So if vat generated is like this then why do we still need to have revenue sharing pool let everyone control his resources |

All mtn airtime, data purchase in Nigeria is under Lagos. Someone that lives in Calabar making use of mtn phone line is having his VAT recorded under Lagos because MTN headquarters is in Lagos. Until VAT is recorded according to point of sales, stop basking in the euphoria laid on faulty foundation. |

kettykings:If everyone was controlling it's resources, how on earth would have Imo State with about N200m VAT contributions few months ago be able to survive 🤔 jmoore:Smh. Lagos was already an economic hub over a century ago. It will take your state another 100 years to be where Lagos was 60 years ago. That's a picture of Lagos in the 1960s o

Oyo state got lot of potentials. The surprise in all this na Ogun state. How did they suddenly got to 19th position with all the massive industries there? Abi all of them dey pay to head office in Lagos too? |
| Re: VAT Generated In States Across Nigeria (November 2024) by Kukutente23: 5:14pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
Out of the 242bn of Lagos, MTN alone has 200bn according to FIRS I hope everyone can see that parasites cuts across regions where VAT is concerned Anyways, where is FCT? |

Kukutente23:Lol keep consoling yourself. Lies that has been debunked. Is that why Oyo's VAT is bigger than that of all the SE combined?? |

The new Bill is actually to ensure that VAT is not paid at source but where Consumption takes place.. it would ensure that these states don't look as pathetic as they look above compared to Lagos.. But the Joker is.. the state would get more but Lagos would get even more than stated above. The idea is to get the state governors work even harder.. now all they do is sit back, wait for FAAC and wait for the President to use them to get votes for Presidential election. |
| Re: VAT Generated In States Across Nigeria (November 2024) by LegendHero(op): 5:15pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
Kukutente23:That was a mistake on FIRS part. MTN do not remit 200bn VAT monthly. |
| Re: VAT Generated In States Across Nigeria (November 2024) by chieveboy(m): 5:15pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
You are reading it wrong and this is why the north disagrees with the Tax bill. A user above shared a probable data from FIRS that MTN alone generates around 200bn of Lagos' VAT. The catch is this VAT is from calls from all other states. Secondly, Lagos's VAT is made fat by imports from other states whereas the port is built by federal money asides other federal status Lagos enjoyed and enjoys to this day. |

Lagos, the envy of Philistines. We hope they're not counting ransom money as VAT in Anambra because we don't how anyone can achieve what our dear PitObi failed to achieve from consumption to consumption. |

FreeStuffsNG:Another post inspired by ignorance. No signs of intellect or addressing the point I raised. Lagos was former capital of Nigeria for more than 60 years..So rest your babablu.. Use your Iragbiji to brag! So it is fair that all VAT by MTN is categorized under Lagos? Some you just like to expose your poor level of thinking. |

Na wah, some states are not meant to be states. Some CEOs and top execs in US earn more than these states. States need to look beyond depending on federal allocation |

Kukutente23:Normally, an informed person should know that it is impossible for only MTN to pay 200 out of N242bn VAT in Lagos. Did other companies or industries die out? Below is the fact check from Cable. https://factcheck.thecable.ng/fact-check-does-mtn-nigeria-remit-n200bn-vat-every-month-as-claimed-by-taiwo-oyedele/

Still confusing how Ekiti, not only top Ondo but also double. I think they need to explain better. Oyo 32 Ogun less than 2. I doubt the authenticity and credibility of the information. |

You mean the brown roofs are generating more VAT than all the mansions in the five plots? It’s no surprise to those of us that have always known that Oyo State is the most economically viable state after Lagos, Rivers and Abuja By the time the tax bills are passed, Ogun State will be one top five being the state with the third highest number of active internet subscribers in Nigeria |
