pauljumbo:Lagos has more than a dozen vehicle assembly plants. Ikeja alone has like 5. Why should they leave them and go patronise Innoson outside Lagos? If Innoson wants to sell in Lagos, he should open a plant in Lagos. Those Nissans you see and the Blue pickup trucks are assembled in Lagos. |

Prof Soludo your state is almost been overrun by ipobss terrorists yet all you do is speak English and talk of granting them amnesty. Good leadership is far from the East apart of Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State. The rest na scam starting from the only LP Governor in the SE. Kudos Lagos |

Every government keep on buying patrol vehicles for police. Seems to like its mandatory now. No maintainance culture. Some have already become private vehicles. Another four yrs,new govt will buy again. |
| Re: Security: Sanwo-Olu Hands Over 250 Brand New Patrol Vehicles To Police by DJInfluence: 8:19pm On Dec 19, 2024 |
What's the point? The Same police that will tell you no fuel in their vehicles. Maybe the state govt should donate a few filling station too. |

Not just vehicles, retrain them and put some coins in their pocket else they will be getting it from Lagosians through extortion. I see Top police ogas cornering this vehicles as private properties. |

leo22:Most of the vehicles are converted to personal use . The few unlucky ones assigned to stations get used up badly cos there's no provision for maintenance from Abuja. They use the vehicle till it collapses due to no accountability ..they didn't purchase it after all. They leverage on the Security Votes from states to buy and maintain their equipment and offices, monies budgeted by the FG for Police Matters is swept away and stolen. That's why the NPF looks haggard and wretched..not the only reason tho. It's a Shame that Lagos spends a lot of it's Security Votes buying hundreds of vehicles for Nigeria Police Farce every year and nothing to show for it. Once State Police comes in, funding for Nigeria Police Farce from States Security Votes ends immediately..you'll now see the difference between Federal and State Police |

descarado:i think its the best way for nigeria.... you dont want to end up in another dasuki situation again.... jonathan meant well but the level of corruption in nigeria is crazy.... let the governors deal with security issues themselves in their individual states.... federal dasukis is dangerous for the whole nigeria.... |

[quote author=Lanrelagboi post=133364621]UPDATE: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today handed over 250+ brand new patrol vehicles, hardware, communications gadgets and protective gears to the police to boost security operations in Lagos State. OkayDaddy:There's absolutely NO need for that car assembly company from the East of River Niger (that sells exact Chinese knockoffs) to set up a vehicle plant in Lagos. The vehicle market space for assembled cars in Lagos is already saturated for potential security vehicles supplies to the Lagos State government. Nord Automobiles is already around in the Unilag environs, Nissan, GAC, even the Abayomi Ogundeyin-owned ProForce Defence Industries located in the nearby Ogun State etc is available for more rugged, bullet-proof cars |

Topman7:No, it has nothing to do with state police. Lagos governors and many other states have been doing this for decades now. Lagos has its own "state" police different from the FG's. |

Sanwo Olu has never bought from INNOSON. Every time he distributes cars to the security agencies, it is full of Japanese or Chinese models. Close your eyes and imagine the amount of foreign exchange that was squandered just to maintain this sort of primitive disdain of other regions of the country. In general, this is the biggest problem with Nigeria. Many sectors of trade and busines in this country have been handed over to the Chinese, the Indians or the Lebanese, all in a bid to "teach a lesson" to a particular section of the country. It is shameful. |
