If everyone was controlling it's resources, how on earth would have Imo State with about N200m VAT contributions few months ago be able to survive 🤔

Smh. Lagos was already an economic hub over a century ago. It will take your state another 100 years to be where Lagos was 60 years ago.

That's a picture of Lagos in the 1960s o
Silly talks!
Who do you think made lagos an economic hub 50yrs ago?
Your lazy forefathers?? Far from it!
Lagos was named by the Portuguese slave traders who used it as a headquarter for their business.
The British came and also established their HQ there.
Thereafter, Nigeria made it her capital.
These foundations coupled with its strategic location and the subsequent investments it attracted from individual Nigerians, federal government, state governments, organisations, corporate institutions and foreigners are all responsible for what lagos is today.
Your lazy forefathers have no hands in it, otherwise, they would have developed Ekiti, Osun, Ogun, Oyo and Ondo with the same hands

Sorry I don't think this is correct. You mean only Anambra among all SE state that managed to be among the first 24 state?

I doubt this submission please. No offense just in doubt.

Now, can someone help me do the calculations of how much Lagos state and Benue states will receive in the sharing? Being that they are the highest and the lowest VAT generated, I want to check something.

I don't believe this shift list. Aside from kano I don't believe other figures from the Northern stares were nothing is happening.

Osisiomo alone in Aba , Abia state where Ariaria market and other industries are
generates more than 3 billion monthly in VAT.

All mtn airtime, data purchase in Nigeria is under Lagos. Someone that lives in Calabar making use of mtn phone line is having his VAT recorded under Lagos because MTN headquarters is in Lagos.

Until VAT is recorded according to point of sales, stop basking in the euphoria laid on faulty foundation.
You've said it all

The SS & SE indigenes generate 90% of Nigeria's VAT!

lets break and see how agberos will generate VAT for some regions grin

That part of what the Tax Reform Bill is set to correct. After the passage of the new Tax Reform Bill I see Kano State moving to second position because of its' population and commerce strength.

The question I keep asking myself whenever I am reading about VAT is what is the problem with Ogun state and how did oyo state reposition herself to be among the first three

Don't mind them. When lies are told for so long, it starts sounding like truth.

It's recently the Yorubas started replying them. Before, we used to ignore their noise.

You're not being realistic. That's not his point. His point is that, from the true meaning of VAT, proceeds from every transaction should be given to the state in which that transaction is done or bought which absolutely makes sense. Any other thing is like robbing one state and giving it's VAT to another undeserving state. Even you, if your proceeds from your farm were given to another man, won't you deem it unjust?

Normally, an informed person should know that it is impossible for only MTN to pay 200 out of N242bn VAT in Lagos. Did other companies or industries die out?

Below is the fact check from Cable. https://factcheck.thecable.ng/fact-check-does-mtn-nigeria-remit-n200bn-vat-every-month-as-claimed-by-taiwo-oyedele/
The Cable is owned by an IPOB fake news merchant

I'm shocked sophisticated you will fall for such fact check from the stable of IPOB

We should wait for official sources to debunk this claim not some soft sell newspaper that have been caught disseminating fake news previously

Lagos, the envy of Philistines. We hope they're not counting ransom money as VAT in Anambra because we don't how anyone can achieve what our dear PitObi failed to achieve from consumption to consumption.
All the Yoruba states are down below the table but it's anambra state that is among the top 5 that's your problem.

Ogun state that you people claim has more industries than the whole south east region is below the table while anambra comfortably sits at the top ladder over all the Yoruba states despite the sit at home

God has blessed the south east and the region will continue to prosper.

Abia state should be the highest after Lagos if this ipob miscreants will allow peace to reign in that region. I am disappointed at Kogi with all their mineral deposits.

FCT was granted autonomy from remitting VAT to FG so they own and determine their own VAT.

So Taxation (i.e government extortion) is what people are bragging about here? Smh.
These same people never consider the fact that in western countries, companies prefer to push their profit into social responsibilities to using them to pay taxes .
These people re not bothered about their direct benefits from companies in their locality, but rejoice when data like these are published for bragging rights... knowing fully well that those taxes most often are embezzled by the power that be.
Some of these states among the first 10, can n't boost of quality infrastructures/security,yet these companies and individuals that contributes to these heavy taxes have been around over time.
Nigeria has a long way to go.

This ogun state is very poor in performance upon its close proximity to Lagos and networks of industries, SMEs, markerts dotting the landscape

Accepted that many of the industries' headquarters are located in Lagos but this is very poor performance even my Ekiti self still towered above it

BAO is working real hard

Are you new to Nigeria or what huh huh ?, that is the reality of Nigeria current tax system , VAT are paid to where the company are registered not where the product is consumed, the reason for agitation for tax reform. Lagos take it all, oil headquarters, Mobile network headquarters, Bank headquarters, only access to seaport and international airport and lot more.
