redcliff:In some industries like high tech, especially with a PhD from an elite university, 100K would be the starting salary. In commodity industries, that is surpassed when bonuses are included. So Hannania is correct. |

blamingthedevil:Thank God for the Internet, else certain people would have lied to many young people about the true state of things. So because people criticise Nigeria, let the govt become a North Korean version overnight? ![]() Sha, expect worse when Gen-Z and Gen Alpha become frequent users of the Internet. ![]() |

Godblessme1:You are ranting like a senseless person, his statement is specific. He said if anyone advises not to travel, meaning that you will in the mental state and have the capacity to want to travel in the first place. So stop all this your negative nonsense vibe and shut up. I really dislike people like you, as if the bigot Nigerians have made any changes. As if the tribalistic Nigerians made any difference, keep fooling yourself when you know the core is rotten and nothing good comes out a rotten stuff other than worms and all the micro level parasites. |

VicM6:He was very clear on the currency. It was the US dollar he used in the comment. The currency in circulation inside Switzerland is the Swiss Franc and it is slightly stronger than the USD. When someone calls Nigeria a shithole, he was clearly lenient or in lack of the proper term to qualify the evil contraption. A large number of the masses will be dying steadily due to hunger, poverty, inadequate healthcare and terrorism both from state and non-state actors. Nigeria is hell on earth. |

franchasofficia:The absolute truth! It's the reason Nigerians in the US are wealthier than their diasporan peers anywhere. Most importantly, the presence of black people in the US provides the opportunity for black Africans to participate in the country's economic opportunities. This is not the same outside of the US let alone in Europe where blacks in the UK have it much better than blacks in France. Then imagine for blacks in Italy, Sweden or Finland? Switzerland is fine as in fine but you can hardly make money as a Nigerian immigrant there. You will make enough money to live fine in Swiss but the Nigerian version of making enough money to invest back home with ease, you cannot make such in Switzerland when compared to America. You don't need fine country as a Nigerian, you need a country that offer you best legitimate money making opportunitiesActually sir, if he's highly skilled, he can make it very well in Switzerland. However, because of the high cost of living notwithstanding the low taxes, he has much more opportunities in the US. The NYSE is enough reason one should live in the US to FULLY harness the economic opportunities. Check most Nigerians living in Europe, they are not always that financially buoyant to have plenty to invest back home, so always have this at the back of your mind before deciding where to Japa to. You can make a list of Nigerians you know in the country you wish to migrate to and check how they are faring. This is true and it's not surprising the majority of Ronus are based in the UK ![]() Europe is just there, it will give you the opportunity to make a good living and train your children but to have enough to invest back in Nigeria, look beyond Europe, Canada and UK honestly unless you are ready to do dirty illegitimate things.I'm curious, what do you say about Nigerians in South Korea, China, Singapore and Japan? America remains their Papa when it comes to money making opportunities, don't let anybody deceive you, Yankee is their king.Undisputed! Even Nigerian entrepreneurs who export extol the US compared to Europe. I've read about successful Nigerian entrepreneurs who export to Europe and say "we made money". But when they exported to the US, they say "we made a lot of money", "I'll focus on the American market" etc. November to April are the worst months to travel to abroad for vacation. Snow is not nice don't let anybody deceive you with fine pictures. Rich whites do relocate to hotter climate cities during these months for their own vacation.I'm feeling the same and I only imagine how it's for those in Canada and Northern Europe. Snow isn't a pleasurable experience for someone who was born and bred in the tropics for at least 25 years. There's a reason many Nigerians pack themselves full inside the Southern United States. Snow restricts how one dresses, exercises and goes out. You cannot move out any time and any how. Snow is the only thing I hate about abroad. Snow and natural disasters are the only things that spoilt abroad but if you love extreme cold then you don't have a problem but for me, I hate snow and I always wonder why Nigerians abroad celebrate that horrible snow of a thing.First time experience. E dey like that. I was once like that. I picked up the snow, looked at it and said "oh, this is how snow looks like" and dropped it off. But now? It doesn't freak me as I don't like it. |

Gerrard59:Now you are putting in attachements to the case. There is no where in switzerland a fresh graduate (which he meant either bachelor or masters) in switzerland earns 100k basic salary. Nobody was talking about bonus. When you sign a work contract, they dont talk to you about bonus. Its a priviledge, the company can decide not to give that yewr and nothing will happen.. |

We are not the reason for your family's misfortune and poverty. Get your ass up and change your family's narrative of misfortune. All the best |

Gerrard59:Hi Gerard, you took your time to analyze my comment like a sport analyst and political pundits I'm curious, what do you say about Nigerians in South Korea, China, Singapore and Japan? South Korea is almost like the US except for the language barrier which limits migrants and immigrants. Another thing that limit Nigerians in SK is the fact that there are limited legal migration routes, and the surest route is via study route, so this makes it kind of difficult to get high paying jobs. |

deenee:Ask the people who don’t speak poorly of their country, and you’ll find a sense of patriotism instilled in them by the trust they have in their government. This trust stems from the government fulfilling its civic duties to its citizens. Now, let me ask you: what civic duty has your government fulfilled for you as a citizen? You provide your own water, electricity, and security. You have to send your children to private schools because public education is inadequate. There is no functional healthcare system. As a Nigerian, you are poorer today than you were 10 years ago. So, what exactly has your government done for you to earn your loyalty or patriotism? This is the difference between why citizens of countries like China or Lebanon don’t criticize their governments—they benefit from at least one or all of these basic services. So, tell me, why should I stay silent and not speak out? Evil thrives when good people do nothing. Was it not because Kemi spoke up that the police issued a memo instructing officers not to arrest people unnecessarily during this period? If you think staying silent is doing your country justice, you’re mistaken. In fact, silence in the face of injustice makes you an enemy of your nation’s development. |

[quote author=Hannania post=133358001]The pay in Switzerland is challenged only by what you can earn in the US. Na you carry your EU savings enter there . Fresh graduates in Switzerland can sweep up a CHF 100k/yr salary which is equivalent to $111k. You need 10 years of experience to stand a chance (not getting it) in Netherlands or Norway. They also have lower taxes than the other low paying EU countries in context. The swiss built that country differently, and it's why getting citizenship there is a nightmare of |

AmiableMosquito:Indians that are not influenced by the BJP propaganda say the truth everytime, seen it on Instagram and twitter so many times. They talk about the challenges being faced in the country, and there's the language barrier so there's little to no chance you'll encounter Argentina forum or discussion group online since you don't understand their language. Saying the truth and criticizing the government will not kill them, if they do more and we can see and feel their impact, we'll praise them. We also praise them whenever they do good things too, PMB really tried on infrastructure, I continue to give him good props on that aspect everytime. I enjoy the lagos ibadan train, I enjoy oyo to ogbomoso road. |
