Any progress that does not better the Jonathan era is not progress. This was a regime we vilified daily with a tirade of the worst insult...and now we are packaging N899 fuel as progress ...ona no serious. |

They don’t have to be panic, they should just reduce their own price below what Dangote bring up and let the competition continue till relatively fair prices. They have hold us to ransom for too long and that’s the monopoly is putting an effort to break. Let there be competition in the market and let the forces of demand determine the market price, it’s going to be win win in the long run. If you can’t compete favorably, you lost out. |

dre11:If only Fayemi did not use Pastor Tunde Bakare, Femi Falana, SAN, Femi Kuti, Wole Soyinka and other credible Nigerians to play politics with our wellbeing in the 2012 fuel deregulation protests. Would we not be enjoying the N40 petrol promised by APC when they told us PDP and Jonathan were clueless buffoons in 2015? Then petrol was N87 and minimum wage was N18,000. How many years did it take Glo to crash telecom prices after free market capitalist PDP deregulated the sector? More than 12 years? Or less than 12 years? Looks like we bought shege thinking we were buying change. ![]() AKPOSbaba: |

dre11:This was used by Sir John Rockfeller. In an attempt to engage in price wars with other business men in the oil business..Sir carnegie also used it in the steel business and even foreign airlines tried using it against Air peace..but the timing of this is so skilfully timed that u will think its to help the masses..its to make those business men run at a massive loss and go out of business. Why didn't he do it for sugar...flour...cement...he wants to get market share at all cost...but Nigerians will pay for it later..its a form of pay less now and pay higher later. |

Lmao 🤣. This man has started again . Same pattern . Destroying the businesses of others because he has leverage . Make them go out of business and then skyrocket the price afterwards. Dangote is no Father Christmas . |

Olat4421:Why not import and sell for N197 per litre. I can assure you everybody will be buying from you. Olat4421:How they were able to do it was to borrow money to pay subsidy for the fuel you were buying at N197 per litre. Since Tinubu removed subsidy last year, your governor has been collecting increased monthly allocations. The amount of money the state has never collected before on a monthly basis. Have you asked him these same questions you’re asking me? |

FG, NNPC, listen and listen good, do not make any attempt to been fuel importation, I repeat DO NOT. This man is a cunny business man, if he succeeds to throw importers out of business, then you'll see his true color. |

Blitzking:God bless you . He did same for cement . Reduced prices till most competitors died off and the others became subservient to him then he skyrocketed the prices . When Rabiu of BUA cement almost took his market share, he started crashing the prices and was doing bonanza up and down . Now he has Rabiu in his corner too. |

If they are not paying competitive wages....hey even PETRONAS and Bp are hiring. And paying Killa wages. E no easy |
| Re: Importers Jittery As Dangote Refinery Slashes Pump Price To ₦899.50/Litre by GloriousGbola: 9:02am On Dec 20, 2024 |
Ishilove:yes. that is actually how it goes in free market ecconomies price of petrol is variable in western nations. as long as dangote is buying crude, he will be buying it at internationally benchmarked rates if he refuses to drop price of petrol when price of crude drops, he will also be unable to raise price of petrol when price of crude rises |

Lol. This serves the cartel of greedy & unpatriotic importers right! When they were choking us with substandard imported fuel & shoving it down our throats just because we didn’t have alternatives, they weren’t jittery ooo; now they’re purportedly jittery & it has only just begun. Being a shrewd businessman that takes no prisoners in any sector of the economy he has his fingers in, Dangote can deliberately take a few hits to his profit margins by slashing prices until the import-dependent marketers are forced to look inwards (read: patronize Dangote Refinery). He could just wait to get information that they’ve imported their usual substandard PMS into the country worth several billions of dollars & just as they’re offloading to their various tank farms from the vessels, they’ll just hear that Dangote has further reduced fuel price by as much as N100; those marketers will just collapse due to the huge losses such a move will impose on them. Anyways, I’m enjoying the price wars... May the greediest business owner lose! |

I like the competition, we need more refinery! Just imagine Warri and kaduna refinery starts operation, and BUA refinery comes onboard, they will be begging Nigerians to buy petrol and even earn more foreign exchange for Nigeria by exporting, thereby reducing the USD pressure on the naira. The naira will gain value too. We need self sufficiency first, and then exports. |

The price of energy like fuel shouldn’t be allow to fluctuate because it was controlled the economy. There was a reason for government intervention like subsidy. Just look at what the economy has turn into. This government doesn’t understand the basics of economy and reasons we are having it this bad. They should be shown exit door |
