A few days ago, we all woke up to sad news in Ibadan, where about 35 kids lost their precious lives as a result of a poorly organized funfair. The question we should ask ourselves is what the organizers would share at the funfair that would make parents allow their children to gather as early as 5 am. The organizers can only share a small portion of rice and maybe caprison for the kids. For that number of kids (7,500) to gather at that time of day clearly shows the level of hunger and hopelessness in the country. The worst part is that nobody will be held accountable, and nobody will be jailed. The citizens will just accuse each other and throw tribal banter, and the case will be closed. Losing 35 innocent kids in a day is a great loss for a country, and people should be made to pay for it. |

The most important considerations are; Imagine the level of hunger that will make 5,000 people be considered for free feeding.Good day. |

It seems karma is indeed insane and real . Imagine the poetic irony of using hunger as a weapon of war against Biafra in 1966 only to choke on it in peacetime 2024 , stumbling like a drunk tyrant lost in their own labyrinth of inhumane wickedness and callousness. Tufiakwa. May the souls rest in peace. |

We need to come to their aid. If they can beg, only Agulu Town can feed them till the end of this self inflicted tinubulation |

Godwin4444:I know you’re hopeful and salivating at the prospect of your evil and murderous hegemonic agents going out to murder innocents over the festive period in the south-east! The fact that Ndigbo are not known for this type of nonsense narrative you want put out there doesn’t deter you from ‘believing’ said lies because it makes you feel smug and good! ‘Igbo going out to target their fellow Igbo over the festive period because they want Biafra’……that’s your idiotic reasoning! And confidence with which you made that evil assertion makes me wonder if you’re not one of the killing squads yourself! If anyone mocks the death of those kids, then face the fool directly and leave Ndigbo out of your immature and vengeful rants! |

Godwin4444:Go organize funfair for Owerri na. See if we go answer you. Mama carry 1 & 2 years old to go collect bobo juice and 2 cups of rice by 5am and we think say hebadan people with igr normal. What kind of children have fun by 5am except witches and wizards?! |
| Re: Ibaban Stampede. by opes: 3:11pm On Dec 20, 2024 |
Blame greed, not hunger..the organiser promised scholarships.. they even mentioned figure of expected children (5,000). Would the children of that figures come alone? |
| Re: Ibaban Stampede. by JagabanBorgu: 3:17pm On Dec 20, 2024 |
Borrow222:First and foremost, people were arrested. Secondly, the average Nigerian is greedy, that is the reason why you see Nigerians fighting for a plate of rice at parties, since I was born, I have seen Nigerians fighting for a plate of rice, when you reprimand them, they will tell you they can afford the rice and they have alot in their homes. Coming to blame the greed of individuals on others is a sign of irresponsibility. Go back to same venue and organize same event with promise of #5,000. Loads of Nigerians will still appear. Few days ago, I saw a huge road block somewhere, I asked what happened, they said Airtel and MTN are sharing free sim cards, ironically most of the people queuing up for those sim cards actually have sim cards, the greed and quest for free things in Nigeria is beyond measure that explains why Iooting of public dividends is on rampage because everyone is greedy. Whatever happened in Ibadan is not an indication of "hunger and hopeless" like u Iots are trying to make it into, it's an indication of greed, the attitude of the average Nigerian to get anything even at the expense of his neighbor, that's why there's a stampede in that place. |

Godwin4444:Fool! You view everything through a tribalistic and oya-let’s-fight lens! Just shows your emotional immaturity! If you see anyone mocking the dead, like you admit you do on here, then face the individual concerned and leave an entire ethnicity wey no send them message out of it! |
| Re: Ibaban Stampede. by JagabanBorgu: 3:24pm On Dec 20, 2024 |
kettykings:I experienced this kind of event in 1995, it was a stampede that killed 8 young lads, I'm sure it was hunger that was used as a weapon as at then. Obidents and tears. |
| Re: Ibaban Stampede. by JagabanBorgu: 3:26pm On Dec 20, 2024 |
csamii:Ironically, if they organize it in Owerri, even adults will come out to stampede on each other. |
