Content creator Precious Ubani recently took to Instagram to share her unique experience visiting a market in the UK called Oshodi Market, known for selling a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. During her visit, she approached one of the sellers and asked if he could speak any Nigerian slang. The seller then gestured to another vendor, who immediately began speaking in Yoruba, saying, "Me, I come from Oshodi Oke." Curious, the seller asked Precious if she was Yoruba, to which she responded that she was Igbo. The vendor then surprised her by switching to Igbo and exchanging pleasantries with her. Fascinated by how the sellers had embraced Nigerian street culture, Precious asked if they had ever been to Nigeria. One of them revealed that he was originally from Oshodi, while the other said he was from Mushin. When asked if they had visited Oshodi before, one of the vendors replied, "No, we haven't been to Oshodi before, but we have our own Oshodi branch here—Oshodi Market. Everything is cheap here." He went on to explain that everything in the market, including fresh fruits and vegetables, is sold for just £1 each. Watch the captivating exchange between Precious Ubani and the vibrant UK vendors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxCCKXCK-OM?si=gPP7CKIzArN_5EnA

There's beauty in Diversity of our Ethnicities. You can see how structured and organized their markets look. Items well packaged. We'll get there someday Praying for a destiny helper that can support me. This Christmas, I don't know how I'm going to celebrate it without having anything to survive on. Brokenness, boredom, and no family. Not even a grain of rice to cook. 🥲 |

The pepper and okro are really cheap at £1. I know how much I buy them in Liverpool. I don't think they will sell for £1 in Manchester. |

![]() The packaging there is neat and nice. But if na Oshodi, the plates dey used to shade those vegetables would be as dirty as the apron the iya basira hunged on her neck. We never talk about the stench that normally emanates from that market ooo ![]() |

Onana70k:Get where? Smh. Inferiority complex and low self-esteem is bad o. FYI, it's not all markets that are like this in the UK and in this Lagos, we have supermarkets that sell stuffs well packaged, weighed and labeled. You and those in the left behind "we" are one of a kind on your own. For those who don't know, Oshodi is a family name o, originally from Tapa but now Yoruba ![]() |

Wow Nigerians are the problem of Nigerians. It won't cost traders nothing to be clean and kept, but lawlessness thrives here. Look how comported and organised this market is ntori olunn Meanwhile note it is only a Nigerian girl you will see preparing for marriage and she only has #5k or less in her account With a mind blowing milage |
