So he should die coz he shot someone? Did the person die? Did he eat the fowl? Did the fowl die ? How many herds men or boko haram have they sentenced to death that has be carried out. Guy get real and face the obvious facts

I dont get it.

How come no-one is talking about the judge or magistrate who made the sentence which is completely outside what the law stipulates in Nigeria?

There has to a way to ensure that such bloodthirsty, evil or overzealous people get exposed and punished..

I am seeing the whole thing as a publicity stunt by the governor because the verdict just sounds unbelievable...

Everybody is shouting "ordinary fowl and egg". What you all failed to ask is, under what circumstance was he arrested? Was he with a weapon? If he was with a weapon of any kind, the law remains the law, and must take it's cause/ enforced. U all are looking at it from the angle of what was about to be stolen, and not from the angle of the means through which the theft was to be carried out. U don't know how useless a thief can be. Someone's full wrist was once removed because of a watch. Someone's ear also has once bn removed because of a c'mon ear ring. Abeg, look at the crime from the angle of the victim who was mentally and emotionally traumatised as a result of the incident.
