These are trucks coming from neighbouring states yet charging exorbitant prices for water. Average Nigerians will take advantage of any situation or crisis to enrich themselves. Certain situations demand a human face. How long will Enugu endure this water crisis?

-Kiss the truth!
Most or average Nigerians are bad. We always take advantage of one another then put blames on the government.

Zik moved the capital of Eastern Nigeria from Calabar , a coastal city to Enugu all out of tribal sentiments.

Before there was Abuja, Enugu was fulfilling that role with all the resources from the region concentrated in developing an inhabitable Enugu.

Instead of developing Calabar to rival Lagos, tribal sentiments saw Zik move the capital in 1960 to Enugu from Calabar. If not Calabar why not PH? And after doing this , Zik went to Lagos to be dragging it with Yorubas.

It's really appalling that such a large city as Enugu can not fix the water problem.

What's stopping successive governments from piping water from Orji river or 9th mile and using the surrounding hills as gravity pumps to households? For where! Instead a cartel of water tanker operators were left to operate and this same cartel are composed of very powerful people connected to governments that will not let the government to invest in a very simple centralised water supply system. Just imagine the revenue that the state government can generate from simple water works.
Calabar was the original capital of Nigeria, not Eastern Nigeria

water is also a problem in Nevada. In Qatar, the government converts sea water into drinking water. SE is not connected to the sea. The only way out is for Enugu to dig for ground water (which is the current ineffective method) or to look for a way to convert a river into drinking water or partner with a state that is close to a large water body.
So because it's Enugu now you've remembered that the problem isn't peculiar to Enugu alone, but if it was Lagos flooding, you'd have told us how successive Lagos governments had come and gone without fixing it forgetting that flooding isn't peculiar to Lagos state alone, when PO commissioned a borehole in the north, your people told us how the north was backward and have useless politicians but now that it's in the SE you're looking for excuses, always holding other leaders accountable except yours, no wonder your region is like that.

Writing nonsense as usual!
Eastern region source of revenue were :

1. Coal
2. Palm oil
3. Taxation.

Enugu and indeed Igboland contributed the lion share of number 2 and 3 and the only part that has number 1.
Even PH was built just because of Enugu coal and was developed using Enugu Coal

Eastern region didn't receive money from crude oil until during the civil war at which time Ojukwu and FG were fighting over the crude oil revenue.

By the way, your Calabar didn't have coal and didn't have enough business to provide tax returns!

It wasn't Zik who made Enugu the capital of Eastern region.
It was the British. Enugu was made the capital of the newly created Eastern region in 1938.
Calabar was never at any point the capital of Eastern region. It was briefly the capital of Southern protectorate before the capital was moved to Lagos by Sir Egerton just before Southern and Northern Nigeria amalgamation in 1914.

Zik isn't the cause of your problems. This is why I hate IPOB because they keep trying to force Ndiigbo into a useless Biafra with you Igbo hating Minorities.
This was how your Igbo hating Calabar parents went and told the British during the Willink commission that Ndiigbo built street lights for Onitsha and didn't build for your Calabar.
But when the British made investigation, they discovered that it was Onitsha business community that contributed money and built the street lights for Onitsha by themselves.

IPOB is a useless organisation for trying to link Ndiigbo with Minorities.

Are you speaking of the same coal in Enough that is reportedly being mind as we speak by Chinese companies in Enough, with all truck loads heavily guarded? undecided

the issue is peculiar to enugu because of the coal soil. I don't think Anambra has that issue.
There is at least one Chinese company up in Enugu mining that coal as we speak and the people in the area are not being taken along. undecided

12. “That there should be modern streetlight in Onitsha, and not Calabar, was also quoted as example of discrimination; it proved however that Onitsha Urban District Council had financed this measure from their own resources.”

13. “The question of land was repeatedly raised, it being resented by the Efiks and Ibibios that the Ibos should acquire land at all in their territory while the methods by which it was obtained were also questioned. There is no doubt that on the Ibo Plateau there is insufficient land for the people and the Ibos ate thrusting outwards where possible they acquire land and use it either for cultivation or building…..This is a matter which will require legislation sooner or later and it will be delicate to handle, but the economic process is in itself healthy and we had little sympathy with a witness who remarked that there is much undeveloped land in district and he was anxious that it should not fall into the hand of the Ibos….We believe that Governments in Nigeria should be careful not to try to protect minorities by introducing measures that would restrict development.”

14. “A group of miscellaneous grievances and charges against the Ibos from Calabar may be treated together; we were told that the Ibos did not observe local customs in the markets….We formed the impression that jealousy of the Ibos successes in the markets was the main factor

Billions of naira that Ugwuanyi claimed was for provision of pipe born water embezzled. Now, this one has enter into a partnership agreement with only God knows company. At the end of the day,we will not see anything meaningful. I could remember that when Mba's government came on board, the entire media space was filled up with how he has provided Enugu residents with water. Today, the same government has entered into a partnership agreement with one company. The problem is those working in those govt boreholes. Sometimes they wii collect money from tanker drivers and get some machines spoilt so as to help the tanker drivers make money especially now they in the "season". Why didn't those boreholes fail during rainy season? Enugu is one of the worse state in the country in term of infrastructure just that it is not always on the spotlight for exactly what it is

1. I said the governor should do his job and you are saying he will turn coal to water. Are the private people supplying water turning coal to water?

2. There are Ekulu, Asata, Ogbete, Aria, Idaw and Nyaba rivers in Enugu state. Water can be sourced from these rivers and be treated in a water treatment facility before distribution to homes. Second option is to pump water from River Niger from Anambra to Enugu water treatment plants.

3. Boreholes can still be drilled in terrains like Enugu where coal poses a challenge. But it's expensive. Government has the money.

That your second line shows you are not residents in enugu state, there's no large body of water in those areas you mentioned, it's just a tiny streams of water,

The major obstacle to enugu water projects is lack of functional pipes network and the government is doing something serious about it now, they're laying pipes across the city centre now, some areas like obiagu, ogbete, new haven which have good existing pipes network are enjoying steady water supply now.
Pipe they started laying since the inception of this administration. Paid agents always think they are talking to fools

The point that person was making is that your suggestion is too ambiguous.
The water problem in Enugu is a natural one.
Even if the state government decides to use all its budget, it still won’t work. It is not economically feasible considering other things that requires attention.
