They should please use Lagos Island(Marina) for this fantasy( ) project as that whole area could do with a complete re-doing e.g Canary Wharf. There is sooo much potential for Lagos Island that's being held back by existing decrepit buildings and infrastructure. |

$4.5B just for a film city In a 3rd world country is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Are we planning to produce Hollywood films or anything better than what we have been doing by filming in locations in SA and UK? When we have hunger and poverty everywhere they want to build a film city? |

jaxxy:You are an absolute MORO.N if you think NIGERIANS are gonna shy away from projects because their country is “third world” (a stupid, outdated term). You have “hunger and poverty everywhere”. Did your mumu head not read the tens of thousands of jobs that will be created by the project? How do you tackle poverty if not by creating employment opportunities? |
| Re: Lagos Partners With Singapore To Build $4.5 Billion Lagos Film City by jaxxy(m): 12:38pm On Dec 21, 2024 |
jazzman7711:what stupid phantom ten thousands of jobs are u talking about? By 3rd world country I'm talking about misplaced priority based on the volume of thst investment on a film city when I can be used to create a business hubs or develop agricultural sector. what does Nollywood need a $4.5b film city for? Many people have invested in Nollywood and it is even oversaturated and plateaued. More jobs in only one or 2 sectors will not fix the economy and will create an imbalance and even add to inflation. u nitwit |

Lagos govt here is just an enabler - they need land from the govt and that's all. You Yoruba folks need to understand that strangers drive development to a city and stop being tribalistic and stop fighting other tribes living in lagos |

jaxxy:WILL YOU SHUT YOUR ROTTEN LIPS. Oh sure, you, a faceless dunce on Nairaland, knows more than the investors what is good for Nollywood. After all the $4.5 billion was just picked up from the floor to invest in any hare-brained idea that came to mind. Stupid, brainless idiot off the street who thinks he ‘knows’. |

jazzman7711:Clown. Goodluck in in investing such in Nollywood. I don't blame them I blame Nigerians who have their priorities upside down in a failed state. Nollywood can never talk about the realities Nigerians are dealing with just fantasies. |
