Can a Bank Move Funds in Available Balance To Ledger Balance? If Yes,Why ..

Pls. Help With an Answer.

Has anyone Witnessed this Before ?


I was Informed by Someone that A Certain Huge Amount have been in his Ledger Balance for a Long time and have not been Moved to Available Balance, I asked him it was ever in Available Balance , According to him , he said it was in Available Balance before but moved to Ledger ..

Pls. Any Banker or Experience Person in the Banking Field..

If u use ur debit card to take buy goods at shop and it's successful..that's a classical debit and credit transaction....i.e. you should be debited while the merchant should be credited...

But sometimes, debit and credit doesn't happen simultaneously real time.......the transaction might say successful yet the merchant isn't credited....the legder balance is like a suspense account that keeps track of incomplete transaction realtime to avoid losses, keeping the money out of your reach by moving to ledger balance, so that seamless reconcilation can happen at a later time and the merchant can have value without chasing you to come and pay.....

It's happens with credit too, example if u have paid another banks cheque into ur account or receive international inflow..

Very apt. It may also happen when you get a loan facility from the bank and decided to pay upfront before the due date.

So what will happen next is for you to send a mail to the bank so they can correct it.

It's an International inflow .

and There is PND on the Account As Well.

The Funds Have been on PND for So Long .

Aparts from all the Indications you have Given probably the bank intentionally put it in ledger as a form of PND.

international inflows often enters ledger account especially if it's first time the account is receiving such credit....
....if u have proof of ur money..go and complain, they will manually reconcile and credit you....

If ur account is on PND for an infraction, thats probably the reason the money first branched the suspense account ..so u will need to go and resolve ur PND issues and claim ur money
