The reason we don't have high end tech companies in Nigeria is because there's only 0.0001 % type of engineers that can do that, and the majority work for multinationals remotely. How many Nigerian software engineers work on the kernel level? If we're to build a streaming service to handle 200m views per/min, can you confidently get 100 Devs based in Nigeria that can do that? That's because we don't even have such companies that give our developers a chance to be staff level engineers(Sum of years of building different projects with different technologies).

So when people with only normal MVP start up experience makes such post, it's disheartening because we have a long way to go

I talk say AI fit solve (some) algorithm problems and in no distant time, it will solve all algorithm problems as Nvidia and other companies develop more powerful processors and energy becomes more affordable.

AI is not all golden, but I agree it advances alot of thing, but it still hallucinates, I will advice people to go indepth in Software engineering because the basic tasks like Web design, Crud apps would be taken over by AI. I use Claude and was really blown away at the code it generated for me, but then again AI prompt + software engineering skills will really accelerate things and the same thing reduce the needs for X number of SWE.

way of development will change, that is, instead of writing code, you write English(prompts), but a knowledgeable person is still needed to handle this process and make sure it is done right. AI can't magically take the idea from your head. Someone still has to prompt it.

With that said, i am guessing job roles will change from:
Frontend Developer(Nextjs),
Fullstack Developer(MERN)

To:
AI prompt engineer, Devin (Frontend development, Vuejs)
