Help! Not Getting 5G by EmmaxKeys(op): 11:47am On Dec 21, 2024

I have a US unlocked Samsung Galaxy S21 plus 5G I bought last month. I've never gotten 5G on this device even though I'm in a 5G area. My friend using a Tecno, his phone shows the 5G connection. I even switched location recently and it's still the same.

Is there something I can do? Thank you.

It is a normal Samsung problem... seems Nigerian 5G networks aren't compatible with most Samsung devices ..

I am facing the same issue, and if you browse the web for more information you will see that it is a common issue with Samsung devices.. it isn't even limited to Nigerian networks, people in US and other countries have similar issues with 5G. The issue is from Samsung.
When I used a Xiaomi device I was always getting sharp 5G, but charging to a Samsung flagship I suddenly stopped getting 5G.

Although there was a period I saw 5G sha, during the period when they had issues with those underwater cables that were cut and the network was very slow; While they were working on the network during that period I was seeing regular 5G on my device, even though the speed wasn't that fast. After they fixed the cables and rectified the network 5G disappeared and i have never seen 5G since.

So my advice to you is just use your device the way it is, LTE/4G is fast enough and you can survive on that. If you want 5G then sell off your device and get a different brand, avoid brands like Samsung/Pixel if you are after 5G.

Noting. Nigeria 5g bands isn't supported.
