Dangote Hails Tinubu On Impact Of Crude For Naira Swap Deal by Estello(op): 4:49am On Dec 22, 2024
...As Dangote Refinery partners MRS to sell PMS at N935 per litre nationwide at its retail outlets

Foremost entrepreneur and President of the Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the positive impact of the naira for crude swap deal on the Nigerian economy, which has led to reduction in prices of petroleum products in the country.

To provide succour to Nigerians, Dangote recently reduced the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) from N970 to N899.50 at its Refinery loading gantry and provided generous credit terms to marketers.

“To ensure that this price reduction gets to the end consumer, we have signed a partnership with MRS to sell petrol from its retail outlets nationwide at N935 per litre” he added. This price has already commenced in Lagos, and it will be offered nationwide from Monday.

In his statement, he called on other oil marketers such as the NNPC Retail and all other marketers, “to work with us to ensure that Nigerians enjoy high-quality petrol at discounted prices.”

According to him, “The Dangote Refinery is for the benefit of Nigeria and Nigerians. We will therefore continue to work with various value chain players to deliver high quality petrol at cheaper prices. Our aim is for all Nigerians to have ready access to high quality petroleum products that are good for their vehicles, good for their health, and good for their pockets.

Recall that in September, the Federal Executive Council (FEC)under the leadership of Mr. President approved the sale of crude to local refineries in Naira and corresponding purchase of petroleum products in Naira. The move, which commenced on October 1, led to reduced pressure on the dollar and ensured the stability of the local currency.

Dangote thanked Nigerians for their unwavering support and the government for creating an enabling environment for the domestic refining industry.

This gradual reduction in prices of petroleum is a sign that Tinubu originally doesn't have to subject Nigerians to untold hardship in the name of subsidy removal to achieve result.

A good manager would have sanitized the NNPCL and the marketers while empowering Dangote and others with naira4crude deal and the rest is commendations

it's still all monopoly game , Dangote will only bring down is prices to take other competitor out of business so he could later increase the price again.... but it won't work for this man this time , we may not know how to produce cement , but you see this oil, it won't work

You only hail what benefits you.
We expected you will sell crude below 800. Rather you sell competing with imported refined fuel. How now is Dangote Refinery benefitting the Nigerians?

Illiterate. Must everything be broken down for you?
It's called an idiom
Hailing Tinubu in a sycophantic manner in the midst of the level of penury his policies have induced is akin to knacking mouth for ground towards bourdillon
Must you be spooned in all things?
Are you this daft?

Dollarization of crude oil makes it expensive worldwide.
Germany is learning the bitter lesson since it started buying LNG in dollars from the US, it's industries have crumbled.

grin about few weeks ago during the Dangote refinery saga when Otedola wrote a lengthy post about the matter, on this forum, some people were saying that 'everybody is going against Tinubu, even the billionaires'. I remember telling them not to be hurry in their judgment, that everything was planned by Tinubu. Now Dangote is praising him, Bua chairman has praised him, very soon Otedola will follow suit, quote me. These people have always been friends, don't lose guard. Don't underrate Tinubu just because you don't like him, he's very cunning.
