The Misconception Of Proverbs 18:22: Advice To Young Men by Rapmoney(op): 7:07am On Dec 22, 2024
Many young men have delved into unfortunate marital union based on the common misconception attached to Proverbs 18:22 which states that "He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favours from the Lord".

Do not be deceived. There is no scientific, cultural, social, religious or economic evidence that once a man gets married to a woman, he begins to obtain favours. If a man begins to experience favours in his life after getting married, it clearly shows that there are some unique and profitable qualities the woman possesses. It could be that she has financial wisdom, an astute business person, a prudent and wise woman who knows how to create and sustain wealth or a supportive wife that can go out of her way to see that the family succeeds.

As a man, don't ever you think that immediately you tie the knot, favours begin to troop in through doors and windows because your wife has two large breasts and a vagina in between her legs. You have to be very intentional when getting married except you have no mental picture of the family you would like to build.

"He who finds a wife (a good, wise and prudent woman) obtains favours from the Lord". Not just any woman. If you marry the type of woman that doesn't mind using your child's WAEC fee to buy shoes, bags or asoebi, and still expecting to obtain favours from the Lord, you will soon meet your Creator.

Let us not deceive ourselves. Marriage doesn't just bring favours because you exchanged vows and you have 'kissed the bride'. If you are a hardworking and ambitious man, favours will be obtained from the marriage if your wife is someone who has substance, prudent and sees opportunities even when they are not clear.

Happy Sunday and Merry Christmas in advance!

I beg to differ. Lay your foundation according to the way God intended it, then you will know the Bible is a manual for everything.
You lay the foundations with intentionality, Shey?

Na still the same thing.

While you intentionally choose to lay foundations, some persons out there prefer to live by chance.

Proverbs 18:22 which states that "He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and obtains favours from the Lord".

It’s a huge misery how white men were able to brainwashed humans till date using religion..

It’s very unfortunate..
Re: The Misconception Of Proverbs 18:22: Advice To Young Men by Angelfrost(m): 2:53pm On Dec 22, 2024
Yep... That's for those who don't study their Bible.

There is a difference between studying and just reading.

Marriage, when done properly with the right person, is naturally and historically proven to improve either partner massively due to the synergy of ideas, funds, and values.

Sadly, many unions are just one-sided: one person is trying hard while the other is a useless parasite and liability.

The Bible firmly warns against such unions.

The bible is a great book but it needs to be revised.
That part should be written as "he who decides to marry should get ready for anything".
Not only that Paul refused to marry (Jesus also refused to marry), he wrote in 1 Cor. 7:8 that if anyone is not married, let them remain like that.

Best write up I have read in a long time. Thanks op for this. It's high time we began to dimistify these myths especially as it has to do with marriage. Another one that baffles me is the "na God dey take care of children". These "ongoing" stampedes should serve as a big lesson.

Whether you choose to marry or not, the most important thing is fight sin and sinful desires. A life of sin isn't worth it at all.

Repent and turn to God today.

God bless everyone.

Normally, favours must still come as a married couple. But it should not stop you from working hard. Its when you go out to work consistently as a married couple, that is when favour start to drop on you.

Please anyone here who can help me with any amount to nurse my injured arm and buy drugs and food, will be very appreciated by me. I got stabbed on my arm two(2) days ago, trying to separate a fight. Pains all over my arm and i can't go to work to hussle again.

😂 Just marry , no problem .

Even Delilah , the wife of Samson can also be a good wife nah :

4 “Some time later, he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek whose name was Delilah.
5 The rulers of the Philistines went to her and said, “See if you can lure him into showing you the secret of his great strength and how we can overpower him so we may tie him up and subdue him. Each one of us will give you eleven hundred shekels of silver
.”
Judges 16:4-5

My own be say , if you marry , you should avoid fornication o.

Men you ignorance is too much, lazy mindset of leaving everything for God. Yes everyone must be intentional on how their future wants to Play out, God only comes in when he sees for effort. After all all God wants for us is fellowship because he already knows what we want.

What I understand about this is, when a man marries, his level of focus and seriousness increases. He will start thinking about feeding and future.
We all understand that every hard-working man must receive pays.

Abegi, you are only looking for what to write.

The Bible said "He who finds a wife*..."

Your focus should be on the word WIFE, is every woman you meet out there a wife?

A woman can be a good woman but not a good wife to someone.
A woman may be considered a bad woman by some and yet be a good wife to someone.

As long as she is a good wife to her husband, she will help her husband grow, progress, increase generally in life.

So, to understand Bible, you need wisdom, knowledge and understanding.
