No one is making runs beyond Madueke too, so the ball still ends up in midfield after such a great move forward.

A point each is the only result I see here.

Maresca is the problem. Maresca's problem is TINKERING. Stop the nonsense TINKERING. Look at the line up against

1. Liverpool
2. Manchester United

and

3. Everton.

All these games Maresca started a RB in the LB position and the output up front in those were terrible. Start players in their right position. Gusto is not as versatile and intelligent like Cucurella. Disasi is a brute force nothing more than that. Both contributed zero attacking wise today. Throughout the game you hardly see Sancho/Gusto or Disasi/Neto attacking up front together. This is because both Gusto and Disasi are limited in the position they asked them to play. They simply cannot do it.

I think maresca made the right call bringing in madueke to stretch the game ...but I disagree with nkunku inclusion ....he won't fair well among those big guyz....and he wasn't pressing.....we missed cucurella though and I feel today Romeo lavia would have worked well than Enzo....the Everton team blocked every passing lanes and we could have done better with a midfielder than could break the line physically on the half turn....all in all it wasn't bad getting a point from a coach that plays pragmatic football against top sides

You see the bold. I agree with you. I don't like when Maresca stubbornly stick to what he knows don't work. Palmer output was so poor today too and this is where you make others feel valued in the team. Felix was kept on the bench for 90 minutes. Why? He cannot tell us Palmer has all the qualities of Felix. That's not possible.
