Maresca thinks he is some kind of football god. Cucurella suspended, just do the obvious thing and stop being an unenecessary genius. Replace Cucurella with another Left back, simple as that. Gusto is a right back, he should play as a right back, not left back because u want to create the impression that u can bring out versatility out of the players. Disasi is not good enough, Gusto should have played behind Neto and Veiga behind Sancho, no need to want to be too smart.
Maresca is a drama queen

To think he started James as A LB back during Manchester united game is laughable and not until he made the substitution in the second half that made the game balanced.

He started that tinkering against Liverpool too. Starting Gusto in the LB position. Both matches didn't produce any favorable outcome. He repeated the same tinkering today against Everton.

I think maresca made the right call bringing in madueke to stretch the game ...but I disagree with nkunku inclusion ....he won't fair well among those big guyz....and he wasn't pressing.....we missed cucurella though and I feel today Romeo lavia would have worked well than Enzo....the Everton team blocked every passing lanes and we could have done better with a midfielder than could break the line physically on the half turn....all in all it wasn't bad getting a point from a coach that plays pragmatic football against top sides

No one is making runs beyond Madueke too, so the ball still ends up in midfield after such a great move forward.

A point each is the only result I see here.

TBH, in as much as I love Palmer, I believe a player of Jao Felix caliber should be given some chances whenever palmer is tired or not at best.

Another player that amazes me so much by the treatment of the coach is Ben Chilwell. His case is even worse. Even today that Cucu was suspended.

I understand that despite the scoring capacity of Nkunku, Jackson does better overall. . But you see, those 3 players I mentioned deserve a bit better from the coach.

Everton is always a difficult game for Chelsea. They play defensive game so to an extent you were right, some teams are just like that.

...You nailed it but can we really blame maresca...today Sancho and Neto were kept quite cos they had no one running behind them ...and no won deflecting a defender from them so this means they had atleast 2 players covering them....Everton was good but the system today made it easier for them to plan defensively against Chelsea.neto had little to do cos he had no help..disasi isn't good going forward and had to stay back...if cucurella won't be playing the maresca needs to find another solution ... especially against teams that loves to sit deep

You are right, but I wonder why bench veiga a natural left back and play Gusto as left back. Disasi had no business in been in that line up yesterday.

Whether Chelsea have woken up or are just inform n can't sustain the momentum. Time will tell
