I would like to share the below B2 interview transcript and would appreciate comments on what may be wrong and/or what to prepare for/against ahead of the next interview. I am doing this because I cannot seem to figure out what the issue may be:

VO: What is the purpose of your visit?
App: To visit my child and baby grandchild.
VO: How much do you earn monthly?
App: N1M
VO: Do you have any other child in the US?
App: Yes, 1 more.
VO: Have you ever traveled with this passport?
App: Yes, {Mentions country}
End of interview.

For Context, App is a 50+ gainfully employed man (as stated in the DS)

Please my IW application was refused as well, did you get a mail to come and pick up your passport at the ois office? Also after the refusal, I was able to see my appointment details with which I submitted the IW and had the option to reschedule for consular processing but I didnt because the dates werent close, then all of a sudden they deleted appointment details and I haven't been able to do anything since then, please kindly enlighten me based on your experience.

Interviews are divine grace..but explaining some certain things might give way.
To me what i saw wrong is that..what is the purpose of visit..he could have expatiate more instead of my child and grandchild as the answer.e.g I am visiting my child(name). He/she just gave birth bla bla..explain the reason for the visit based on the circumstances or create a circumstance that is close to being true that you can sell to the VO. How much do you earn monthly, he could have said the amount and still mention what he does to earn that amount. e.g I currently work with so so company as a so so so and i earn so so monthly. I will be embarking on my annual leave for this trip. Do you have a another child. He could have answered more by stating what the child does if a student, mention the school name and course, the year he/she will be graduating etc. depends on the status of the child. Have you ever traveled with this passport. Yes mention country amd what you went to do in those countries. Tourism, mention the places you visit and your experience, conference, mention what the conference is all about, work trip, mention what you do etc.
While i am not an expert, VO needs more info that will help your case, more believable story not just one word answer. Make it conversational like talking to your friend or buddy. But be careful not to spill too much. Better luck next time

Good morning, My US visa expired in October and I filled DS160 form for renewal. Answered all questions for IW but did not get a mail and was not able to pick the first date of March 7 2025 I saw it kept showing an error later showing no appointments available for Lagos. I saw January 2026 yesterday and went ahead to pick but came back as a regular interview. Please has the IW been stopped? I will need any help I can get from this community if we have others here with the same issues or if someone has had the same before.

Please, after payment and answering questions for the interview waiver I was told I was eligible and I selected yes to go ahead but the thing is, the calendar is greyed out and I can’t even see December 2024 or year 2025 even after selecting lagos. Also, the top of the calendar is saying consulate appointment. Is this right for Dropbox

My dashboard has also auto generated a POST appointment letter but all info is blank. I’m just so confused, I just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing.

Hello guys,
I applied for a B1/B2 Visa earlier this year and got a date for April 2025. I was hoping to reschedule the appointment and bring it nearer since the training i was going for was in July 2024. I could not get a closer date so I had to miss the training.
Now I need to travel to the US again for a different conference. Can I use that old appointment for this conference, the timing works for me. I am thinking to say that, even though the other training I have passed, I have a conference that I now need to attend.

Has anyone had to do this before?
I have letter of invitation and all.
What would you advice?

Please for those who have been to USA on a Visit or Tourist Visa, do they give free sim-card upon arrival or visitors have to buy the sim-card to be able to make calls and use the internet?

Hello everyone, please has anyone been in this situation and scaled through? I was told to schedule a 221g appointment but there is no button to click to reschedule under the IW application. I have sent countless emails to no avail. How do I go about this please? MRV fee will soon expire and no word from the embassy yet. Thank you.

During the interview I was told I would be issued a visa and submitted my passport. I was told it would take one week for my passport to be ready for pickup and then today when I checked the visa application status link , I saw refused. It’s very confusing because was told by the interviewer that I would be issued the visa , I still haven’t heard from the embassy about my passport. Has anyone experienced this

they don't give free sim card upon arival . you would have to buy ,nothing is free in America. Good thing Is that you can connect to the airport wifi free and call via whatsapp and the likes.

Be patient .For 221g refusals the embassy will email you themselves with a date to come for your interview.Just keep checking your email .
