You have not answered my question.

Is it normal for a presidential candidate to avoid a presidential debate during a presidential election campaign?
Learn to read. I already answered you. The job of a presidential (or any) candidate is to win his election and to employ strategies that will aid in that. Post morterm is for those who lost! If a candidate avoided a debate especially one by an hostile organizer and wins then it was the right strategy to avoid it.

The question you should ask (which I have already told you) is why those who focused on TV debates lost.

For the last time good riddance!

I dont know how stooopid you feel reading what you just typed but you should. Did you bother to check Arise TV audience numbers, views, subscriptions, typical views per video etc? They are not as important as they (or you) think they are! did not occur to you that most people dont have N500 for data and do you know how long a debate is? My mechanic (who charged me 400K in the end) came to fix my car the other day, I had to pay for his data so we could communicate on whatsapp. Talk less the rural dwellers!

There exists a Nigeria beyond the cities of Lagos, Abuja etc. they don’t watch Arise TV. And they certainly dont watch debates!

The arise news is on right now on YouTube, less than 800 people are watching! In a country of 220m, they have less than 1m subscribers both local and international.

The second picture is one of the presidential debates. 2 years after and after multiple views at home aand abroad, it never got to 500k views, most of this are the educated Uncle Toms in the cities and abroad. I am sure it never got 50k views on the day! And this is what someone should waste his time entering a hostile environment for?

Do a YouTube search for arise Tv and Edo debates. Most of the views are 50k, max 100k. This is the whole of Nigeria and of this how many are Edo voters? I’m sure not more than 5K. So if as a Edo candidate I have a handicap and I know some presenters want to humiliate me, why would I attend…..for a max audience of 5K? How many views did Ighodalo and Apata get for all their Arise interviews and how many were from Edo?

I keep repeating that elections is not a game for sentiment and emotions but stats and figures. You go where the votes are……they are not on Arise TV!
You're adamantly stupid.

Always coming out to support rubbish. So proud of the fact that your useless Tinoopig and other criminals like him can weaponize the deliberately imposed poverty and ignorance of the vast majority of Nigerians to gain and consolidate power. Are you not ashamed?

If there are 100 blind people and only 1 person with vision, should the one person not be empowered to decide the direction of the remaining 99 blind people? Who else would prefer the inimical 'sufrage' of the majority 'blind' people over the minority who can see, if not those with warped agendas?

Very disgusting animal.

Don't bother to reply, because I wouldn't read whatever disgusting rubbish you have to say. But of course you will, like the useless robot you are. And you would be wasting your time.

I didnt mention any particular name. If you have an issue with Rufai, you are entitled to. However to ignore and avoid the entire press, speaks for itself.
you want federal government to ignore government owned institution like nta to go where again?

DeepSight:
Lol. You are obviously not serious if your argument is that the President should only have media interaction with obviously subservient agencies. You are a joker. You are the type of human being who makes arguments in favor of slavery. You dont deserve freedom.
you didn't answer the question.

Government should ignore state own institutions in a presidential chat for which institution?

Has any presidential chat or governors chat taken place outside government owned establishment before in the history of the country?

Why do you people talk like you have okro in your brain self?

The president should ignore nta that covers all Nigeria to go and have a chat that affects all Nigerians on arise tv or channels TV that only serves lagos and few other states right?

Didn't they invite independent journalists to the chat which is standard procedure?

The issue is that this is a prerecorded, and carefully edited interview. Tinubu will not be asked sensible and burning questions about issues facing Nigeria and Nigerians and any dumb response he gives will be carefully edited to remove any blunders. Worse of all, Tinubu will be given all the interview questions to prepare ahead of time. Tinubu doesn't have the mental and physical strength to face a live interview of this magnitude. Tinubu is a disgrace. He ought to be in old people's home, managing his health with the stolen wealth he's amassed over the years instead of trying to strangulate 200 million+ people with poverty and hardship inducing policies.
Period. This is the pure and simple truth.

Does that mean it must take him one and a half years to have a first encounter with the media? You guys admire western democracy, and you see the way even Presidents and Prime Ministers are interrogated by the press (and they make themselves available constantly).

But here, because you worship a criminally corrupt, entitled and disdainful leader whose policies continue to kill thousands of people in this country, you feel its ok for his majesty to ignore the media for one and a half years straight. You people are slaves who dont deserve freedom.

Do you see the way the press heckles even an American President in a press briefing right in the White House? Do you see the way the British PM has to be fast with his facts and on his toes every wednesday in parliament?

But here, we serve a royal and imperial president, before whom jouranlists must sit tight and behave.
