The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has reiterated the need for governments at all levels to embrace transparency and accountability, particularly in managing public funds amidst Nigeria’s ongoing economic challenges.


Speaking through the National Overseer Emeritus, Pastor Joseph Obayemi, at the Hallelujah Mega Praise, Season 3, themed “Tehillah (Song of Praise)” in Shimawa, Ogun State, Adeboye described the nation’s struggles as largely self-inflicted.

He emphasized that sincerity of purpose in governance is crucial to overcoming Nigeria’s economic difficulties. Referring to recent stampedes over food palliatives, he urged the political class to shun corruption and act with integrity.

“If corruption and bribery are eradicated, and if leaders genuinely commit to leading the nation, there will be no problem,” he stated. “We have abundant human and mineral resources, but we need determination, sincerity, faithfulness, and integrity from our leaders to make a difference.”

Pastor Felix Ikumapayi, the Pastor-in-Charge of RCCG Province 4, added that praise and faith could provide hope amidst adversity. He encouraged Nigerians to take moments to celebrate God and trust in His ability to redirect the nation’s course.

“Amid the hardship, when we devote time to praising God, we forget our challenges and open ourselves to divine solutions. God can connect us to those holding the answers to our problems,” Ikumapayi said.


Both clergymen urged the government to take concrete steps toward greater transparency and governance reforms to restore hope and confidence among citizens.

Puppit bandit. How can you expect the corruption to be eradicated when most of the tithes and donations were donating to your church are getting through corruption.
