From my personal experience with numerous attacks by bandits, passing through Lagos - Oyo - ilorin- Mokwa - Abuja is much safer than passing through Akure/Ekiti - Lokoja -Abuja. The most dangerous route now is Ekiti/Akure to Lokoja, so travelers should be very careful on that route. For those that are coming from South South or South East to Sokoto state, the fastest route to Sokoto is Abuja - Zaria - Funtua - Gusau - Sokoto, and the most very dangerous route is from Funtua - Gusau - Sokoto. Travelers should be very careful on that route, especially at night. The attack by bandits is very minimal in the day due to roadblocks by security operatives but very dangerous at night. Even there is a curfew on that route from 6 pm - 7 am. If you're traveling to that route and your driver reaches Zaria in the evening time, please don't allow the driver to move further, or you can come down from the bus because some drivers are very stubborn. One of the most dangerous roads before was Abuja - Kaduna, but our soldiers have taken over the road, no more bandits attack on that road 90 Likes 6 Shares |
