Lol. You are obviously not serious if your argument is that the President should only have media interaction with obviously subservient agencies. You are a joker. You are the type of human being who makes arguments in favor of slavery. You dont deserve freedom.
you didn't answer the question.

Government should ignore state own institutions in a presidential chat for which institution?

Has any presidential chat or governors chat taken place outside government owned establishment before in the history of the country?

Why do you people talk like you have okro in your brain self?

The president should ignore nta that covers all Nigeria to go and have a chat that affects all Nigerians on arise tv or channels TV that only serves lagos and few other states right?

You're adamantly stupid.

Always coming out to support rubbish. So proud of the fact that your useless Tinoopig and other criminals like him can weaponize the deliberately imposed poverty and ignorance of the vast majority of Nigerians to gain and consolidate power. Are you not ashamed? You dey try to reply some people I swear...and the person you are replying think he has a point undecided

If there are 100 blind people and only 1 person with vision, should the one person not be empowered to decide the direction of the remaining 99 blind people? Who else would prefer the inimical 'sufrage' of the majority 'blind' people over the minority who can see, if not those with warped agendas?

Very disgusting animal.

Don't bother to reply, because I wouldn't read whatever disgusting rubbish you have to say. But of course you will, like the useless robot you are. And you would be wasting your time.

The issue is that this is a prerecorded, and carefully edited interview. Tinubu will not be asked sensible and burning questions about issues facing Nigeria and Nigerians and any dumb response he gives will be carefully edited to remove any blunders. Worse of all, Tinubu will be given all the interview questions to prepare ahead of time. Tinubu doesn't have the mental and physical strength to face a live interview of this magnitude. Tinubu is a disgrace. He ought to be in old people's home, managing his health with the stolen wealth he's amassed over the years instead of trying to strangulate 200 million+ people with poverty and hardship inducing policies.
Contrary to your views, all questions agitating the minds of Nigerians were asked! Have a positive view of your country for once!

Can you tell me extant law he breached for not attending public debate before election?
he didn't break any law but if you own a company and you want to employ someone, wouldn't you want to have a session with the person to get to know what he has to give?

I knew that this man will determinedly never face the press till he leaves office. So when I saw this title, I thought I had been proven wrong. But alas! Its NTA and Radio Nigeria! So I remain right!

Post Interview Edit: It wasnt NTA/ Radio Nigeria as said in the OP. It turned out to be a mix of private sector journalists, but was still an obviously pre-recorded and managed session in which no serious questions were put forward and addressed.
No serious questions, like? Oh ,why is Kanu not yet released?

The way some of you used to talk about presidential debates one would have thought avoiding them is unconstitutional in America but Trump did it and still won the Presidency in a model country. Tinubu probably gave Trump the idea to avoid the second debate with Harris. Tinubu is far ahead of Obi and Atiku in all ramifications.
Is it normal for a presidential candidate to avoid a presidential debate during a presidential election campaign?

This question requires either yes or no as an answer. Answer it before talking about its constitutionality.

First line - they do. Many times. During question time.

As to the rest, you miss the general point about the leader having to accountably explain himself constantly. Whereas in Nigeria they scarcely bother. I believe Buhari had only one or two such media chats in his entire eight years. And this one is just having a carefully managed first one after one and a half years. If you can't see the problem with that, good luck.
Question time? Are you still mixing up Presidential and Prime ministerial systems?
Re: Tinubu: Presidential Media Chat (Live Update) by naptu2(op): 8:08am On Dec 24, 2024
KAI! 🤣

There are some people whose posts I have decided that I will never read, because I don't want my brain to rot.

However, I have just seen a post by one of those people because someone else quoted it.

The announcement that was made yesterday contained the same format for presidential broadcasts that I have seen in over 40 years.

They always tell you that the broadcast, chat or interview will be broadcast on the NTA and FRCN and that all other stations should hook up to it.

This is simple enough English and everybody should be able to understand it, but it seems it is too much for that guy's mind to comprehend.

The statement means that the signals will emanate from the NTA and FRCN and other stations should hook onto those networks and rebroadcast the signal.

It does not mean that the interviewers will solely be from the NTA and FRCN or that the NTA and FRCN are the organisers of the programme. (In fact, this same format has been used when Nigerian leaders were interviewed by foreign networks).

This is so simple and clear that it should not have to be explained.

But not everybody can reason properly.

More developed and intelligent America voted die Trump despite his avoiding debate. Here you are questioning the intelligence of people that brought education to you and more advanced than you. The Nigerian education system you had does not allow you to think outside the box. You need to be a creative thinker.

Sounds confident justifying failure, what did he say that is "New" the media chat was a complete waste of time for a president who said he doesnt care about the feedback, what he is doing is the best and nobody can convince him otherwise

The summary of Tinubu message is whoever want to die go n die ... we wont review our policy or our method,

we are broke and we must manage from the side of the people only But govt opulence is necessary take it or leave

its fvcking irritating to watch to an arrogant failure justifying his stupidity, does a Tinubu have the morale standi to preach manage shocked
The president as said it, Nigerians you are OYO, take care of yourselves.

It depends on what you define as "normal"! Is there a law that mandates a candidate to participate in a debate? Obviously, None! If you choose not to vote a candidate because of not participating in a debate, you are within your right AND SO IS THE CANDIDATE WHO CHOOSES NOT TO! A candidate can employ other channels to reach his audience because the people who vote in this country don't watch debates!

Answer the question first before talking about law.

Not at all bro. Please its Xmas. Do I have to explain everything? I know "Question Time" has a meaning with regard to a PM answering questions. However I simply meant that Presidents in the US also take questions from the Press and they are aggressively heckled in such sessions. Biden (due to old age and dementia) has stayed away from it, but many former presidents (including Trump) faced it. They didnt run from it as our leaders do.

You're the one with insufficient IQ here. There's no way a sitting president will ignore the state TV house for a TV station in the private sector. What message will the president be propagating? The most they can do is have a mix of anchors like they have done in this case. They want to convince us it's not preempt or premeditated; surely we know better of course! Just know there's no amount of conviction they'll wanna give, that will make them opt for Arise TV or Channels TV when NTA is functioning. The Press Chat in itself is a propaganda, a calculated attempt to bamboozle everyone into lending credence to the present government.

I didn't watch. To stay on insta streets will give me more succour. Ish!
Well fair comment. The Chat was not impressive at the end of the day sha.

I see.

Being heckled is no sign of serious enquiry. Just like Nigeria the US press are politically polarised and as such questions are questions are efforts to affirm or embarrass.

The real forum for questioning our leaders is at state and LG level. Unfortunately we have a fixation about the Federal level. Probably owing to conditioning by military governments. In the US and UK local concerns are pushed significantly

I have a positive view of my country and I have a very negative view of Tinubu. Tinubu doesn't represent me or my country. Tinubu represents himself and his clique of corrupt and nepotistic friends.

That I love my country doesn't mean I should love Tinubu who has done nothing but make lives of Nigerians harder than it already is. If my views offend you go fvck yourself or hug a transformer
I appreciate your opinion, but if anyone is to hug a transformer pole it should be you because you're averse to good things!
