From my personal experience with numerous attacks by bandits, passing through Lagos - Oyo - ilorin- Mokwa - Abuja is much safer than passing through Akure/Ekiti - Lokoja -Abuja. The most dangerous route now is Ekiti/Akure to Lokoja, so travelers should be very careful on that route.

For those that are coming from South South or South East to Sokoto state, the fastest route to Sokoto is Abuja - Zaria - Funtua - Gusau - Sokoto, and the most very dangerous route is from Funtua - Gusau - Sokoto. Travelers should be very careful on that route, especially at night. The attack by bandits is very minimal in the day due to roadblocks by security operatives but very dangerous at night. Even there is a curfew on that route from 6 pm - 7 am. If you're traveling to that route and your driver reaches Zaria in the evening time, please don't allow the driver to move further, or you can come down from the bus because some drivers are very stubborn.

One of the most dangerous roads before was Abuja - Kaduna, but our soldiers have taken over the road, no more bandits attack on that road
That place is too dangerous, from Ilesha to Aramoko-ekiti is too dangerous...
I passed their last 2weeks I almost fainted cos that place is prone to kidnappers

Kidnapping is becoming a big source of IGR to some states now.

I can never make an interstate travel by road Nigeria. Not even from Lagos to Ibadan. If I am not flying, I sit in my home but other African countries, I enjoy road trips a lot.

Can we start public execution of kidnappers?
When that starts, believe me kidnapping will reduce by 50%.
The image of kidnappers being executed will be playing in the brains of all prospective kidnappers. The number will definitely reduce.
Exactly, that is the only solution.

You still haven't learned from celebratimg the deaths of children in Ibadan and another one happening in Anambra the next day.

Just to enlighten you, unlike in Ala Igbo where LP got almost all votes, a lot of people in Ala Yoruba voted LP most of whom would have been Ndi Yoruba.

Maybe you should beware of laughing at people been kidnapped, someone might be laughing at a similar fate happening to you or yours soon.

huh

The security architecture in Ekiti is too porous than you can actually imagine. Sadly, the governor is living below expectations. Poor roads, poor security and very woeful economy.

I was traveling through the IKERE/IGBARA ODO/OWENA ROAD just to avoid the Aramoko/Ita ore death trap road in a bid to navigate my way through to Lagos, to my greatest dismay, the only police checkpoint I met told me; MY SAFETY IS 50/50 on the Ikere/IGBARA ODO road. Even passengers won't let commercial drivers use the road due to incessant kidnapping on that route. Governor Oyebanji should just go home please. I have no iota political affiliation with anyone but I just perceive the idle governor is taking the people for a long ride unnecessarily

Ekiti is bleeding badly at the moment.

Statistics shows that Kidnapping is a lucrative business in Nigeria, with low risk so many will follow suit.

Now why is it considered 'low Risk'? If you relative is kidnapped in Nigeria, you lodge a complaint with the police, they police who are employed to solve the problems will charge you and 'Arm and a leg' for tracking and investigation, sometimes even higher than what the kidnappers would demand as ransom.

The kidnappers and fraudsters know this and they leverage on the fact that the police does not work for free, even though they are paid by the same taxpayers and get allocations from the national budgets.

When you weigh the risks and costs of involving the police, you are forced to simply write statements at the police station and go negotiate with the kidnappers.

The country is rotten to the core.
