A vehicle loaded with rice and other goods was stuck on a rail track in Lagos. Despite efforts by bystanders to push the vehicle off the track, they were unable to move it before an oncoming train approached.
Eventually, the train rammed into the immobilized car before coming to an abrupt stop.

The owner of the vehicle should pay for damages to the train owner and anyone who got injured by his stupidity.

Our leaders at times are our problems. If parts of the track is being shared with other vehicles, a gate and traffic light are very important. Putting measures like this will prevent all this nonsense.

Are you sure we also have signallers in a signal box?

This is just stupid and totally unacceptable. I can't believe that the railway management do not have any towing services that can speedily move any object that obstructs the railway. This is a gross dereliction of duty putting human lives at stake

Avoid train tracks, avoid driving in front of heavy articulated vehicles. Their braking systems are like your regular cars own.

Offload the goods before pushing.
Common sense 101

The intersection isn't well constructed. You can see that any vehicle could get stuck there cos the road isn't properly levelled with the train track. There are train intersections abroad where you wouldn't even feel any bump on your tyre.

Another thing is the lack of traffic light for oncoming trains, that's a hazard so the government (NRC) is to blame for this, but I trust Nigerian authorities to always blame the victim... 😔

That train could have stopped if it had wanted. It had all the time to apply the brakes just one empty coach.

These Rail crossing should be manned always.

I was at Ilupeju rail crossing/intersection yesterday evening and no one was there to stop the vehicles ahead of time yet the train was passing by, anything could have happened.

Thank God that it was just a carrier ( olomokuya stuff) moving on test run speed. If it has coaches the motor would have been wrecked and condemned

The train has just one coach attached, and should have stopped easily.

Be like the train driver just wants to teach the car owner a lesson.
