1. It was not a live media chat that could have afforded Nigerians the opportunity to ask their president questions even through text messages.
2. The selected media people are his boys, or some were too scared to ask the hard questions.

Why?

1) Some felt he was too arrogant to talk to Nigerians but he did

2) Some Nigerians believe he cannot talk without balabluing but he did.

3) Some Nigerians felt he isn't in charge of the running of the country but this showed that he knows the policies he's implementing.

4) The fact that he invited even so called opposition media such as Abati of Arise impressed me

5) He even challenged the journalists to mention any non performing minister and they all kept mute meaning most of his critics arent bold to say it to his face.

Being a strong critic of Tilumbu I must admit he scored some good points by doing this.

1. He did Just to prove the people right, another show of arrogance

2. Nigerians also believe Tinubu cant take responsibility or admit any wrong ... which he affirmed

3. A leader who feel four stampede across the nation is a consequence of crowd management and not hardship clearly is not in terms with reality


4 The fact that the media chat was pre recorded and bear no form of altercation or back n forth invalidate any positive remark, at the point Tinubu asked which of his minister is not adding value and a whole Abati could not mention one ... that one naa free chat.

For the main fact i campaigned, mobilized and voted for Tinubu, these is totally disappointing.

Listen to Tinubu speech at ojota 2011, and criticism of other govt you will see he is on a self contradictory path. big shame to Tinubu

That's not a biggie, Abati is a mere employee of Arise, career advancement first. Arise is a mere business enterprise, Profitability first. it's not like abati has a calling to fight for the people. The little opposition Abati tries to project is because Abati is PDP in nature. The same dirty job adeshina did for buhari and bwala and co are doing for tinubu, abati did it for Jonathan, they are all d same, only that times are different

these chats are guided to a large extent. The interviewers will be reviewed n vetted by the president's inhouse media team and given clearance. Issues the president wants to address are pre-discussed to guide the conversation. You'll be surprised that the interviewers get envelopes too, they don't call it bribe, that expense is lumped usually lumped under some bogus headings like media expenses, and this isn't peculiar to Tinubu alone, never trust the media, like the legislators, no conscience. Every one of them is just trying to feed

Media practitioners even lobby to be among the team that will ask questions to boost their personal profile and you know what that means, it puts the president's team in charge about how things should be done, what should be asked, "u embarrass the presidency" it's almost over for you.

The current president did well in the media chat compared to the immediate past president.. not in terms of content but in terms of expression and clear communication.

Having realised that Media chat was a terrible idea, the former President's handlers cancelled the chat for most of the years in office.

Now to the rating of this chat, Perception of public officials performance would always be subjective.. it-would-favor-me-and-my-family crew would rate the chat high. Hungry Nigerians didn't even know there was a media chat.. so nothing to rate.

It wasn't a mistake. Don't believe media people yapping on TV. If Nigerians can't vote right, nobody no media no legislator no governor is going to save them by asking d president right questions. Abati is building his career and wont put that on tbe table to "embarrass the presidency with tough questions". Presidency media team n office of chief of staff would have moderated the whole thing before the chat started sef

If a lot of people know the pre-event moderation that goes into Presidential media chat in Nigeria, they will slap themselves for spending over an hour of their precious time listening to someone answer questions asked by technically guarded journalists. In presidentiaL media chats in Nigeria, the earlier you know the panel members are like supevised learning models, the better for you. And this isn't about Tinubu alone

You've made very good points. Abati insists that the questions weren't vetted before the media chat. I'm not even asking them to ridicule or embarrass the president. I only expected tougher questions such as

"sir give a time frame for your policies to yield result so that we can measure the extent of it's effectiveness"

"sir these end of the year giveaways is a yearly thing but don't you think for this year to have experienced three stampedes already is a testiment that the economy is worse than before?"

"sir,. X ministry has been worse off under the current X minister as statistics show that this is the first time the ministry is performing so poorly in the past Z years"

Some of these can be stated diplomatically but still driving home the point.
