Some people are arguing that journalists ought to have challenged the president on critical issues. Some even argued that Rufai Oseni ought to have been in the panel. Even Arise News is critically aware that Rufai Oseni cannot be sent on big missions so as not to embarrass his employers.

Yesterday, we saw a chat that was not about the interviewees, but about the interviewer. We listened and heard about critical issues and saw someone who was articulate amd firm on issues.

He seemed to be confident about crashing inflation to 15%. He outlined what would be done. He was clear on the best way to tackle corruption was to prevent it amd highlighted the steps he had taken to address it.

I saw someone who had clarity about the architecture and execution. He is someone who cannot be cowered easily.

I have seen some Nairalanders and pretenders to political intellectualism who claimed the outing was shallow. They have always disliked the man; so nothing he'd say would be listened to. These folks are quick to pre-condemn before even listening.

He said the way to tackle inflation is to simulate production for local consumption.

One thing is clear: 2025 and the first half of 2026 would be the defining period of Tinubu's administration. He knows it.

That country has larger oil reserves than Nigeria, exports more barrels per day than Nigeria, and has a population of just 9 million people!!!!

I know very well that my 10 years old daughter would have asked pertinent questions if given the opportunity to face the president. One of her questions would have have been, sir why are Nigerians passing through excruciating hardship since you assumed office as the president. Another one would have been why were you declared the winner of the election?
