Shop at mart instead of mall

Annoyingly, those who are privilege hardly patronize road side sellers. They keep on giving their money to the capitalist . Buying fresh fruits at road side compared to mall or mart is almost 10% difference

Lately, I have been deliberately buying some things at the road side just to boost the economy
What is this? Your own idea of local economy is road side petty trading? Ah. You want to boost "local economy" (whatever that means), but don't want to patronise local companies that are responsible for employment, real estate, VAT, and personal income tax?

You want to replace Bokku (founded by Adewale Adeyemi) and Justrite malls (founded by Dr Ayodele Aderinwale and co) and their 1000+ employees with mama Nkechi and Iya Basira's 2x2 kiosk? Is this how you want to develop Nigeria? Is this what you see on TV in civilised societies?

Never seen a d u m b e r take in my life tbh. This una yeye party sha. Is this how you want to waste another 8 years of your life on this failed party? 8+8+ (8 again)?

Sometimes, different people do the same thing for different reasons. Not everyone that shops at malls do so for ostentation sake. Some people do it for hygiene sake. Roadside sellers will sneeze into the gutter or urinate or even go to a hidden corner to poo and return to their stand to continue selling without washing their hands. I have watched a food hawker using water from the gutter to wash the plates she was using to serve people. Actually, the water was rushing out of the gutter wall like tap water, and looked clean. Some of the customers (mostly bus drivers and bus loaders) that crowded her watched her use the water to wash the plates and afterwards accepted the food served in those plates.

A few days ago, I wanted to buy Dates from an Aboki. I sighted him while he was still a bit far and I was waiting for him to get to where I was standing so that I would patronise him. As he was coming, he stopped, packed his wheelbarrow, moved close to a gutter, urinated and returned to continue his movement without washing his hands. As he was getting closer to where I was standing, someone stopped him and he had to use a cup to measure tiger nuts into a waterproof bag for the person. This is the same person who just urinated without washing his hands. But if there's a shopping mall nearby and I ignore him to patronise the shopping mall, someone like you will condemn me for not patronising him.

I pity roadside sellers. I give them money when I can afford to do so. When I manage to buy things from them, I don't accept balance from them. But I don't have to express the pity to the detriment of my health.

Apart from hygiene, there is another concern. The ones that hawk cashew nuts are very mischievous and crafty. They use neat cashew nuts to cover very bad ones in the nylons or in the bottles. Once you open what you got from them, you will regret patronising them. If it is not wickedness, why do they carefully use neat ones to cover the bad ones? If you buy cashew nut from a shopping mall, the nuts inside will be as neat as the ones you could see from outside the transparent bottle.
Story.
Buy fresh fruits on the streets of Jos.. buy fresh pineaple along Benin-Ore axis… Buy fresh seafood in ND areas, buy fresh groundnuts in the north and eastern towns/villages…. Buy freshly hand made cashew nuts in Enugu/Imo axis… you go say fnckuk big malls.

What aan achievement of a most unfortunate kind.
This encapsulates the harsh reality of negative growth, stagnation, and outright retrogression in one breath.

For context and comparison, during Obasanjo's administration, Nigeria witnessed unparalleled economic strides: billionaires emerged in record numbers, the telecommunications sector experienced unprecedented growth, and the banking industry soared to the world stage to become one of the fastest-growing in the world. Fast forward to the current APC-led regime, and the narrative has changed dramatically.

A lot of people then moved from Honda to rolls royce and from commercial flights to private jets.

We now find ourselves in an era where survival trumps progress. The socio-economic landscape paints a grim picture: individuals once driving rolls royce cars now trading them for Honda,

Honda owners relinquish their vehicles for tricycles, tricycle owners trade down to motorcycles, and those on motorcycles abandon them to join the ranks of those trekking. This chain of devaluation mirrors a larger systemic collapse, a regression from ambition to subsistence.

12 billion dollar wouldnt do anything to this present economy as the drug baron and his gang of thieves will embezzle the whole 12, with nothing reaching the citizen
ElSudani:
Everything depends on revenue, from oil or otherwise. Obasanjo was able to pay $12 billion in order to get some debt written off. Can you imagine what $12 billion dollars would do to the economy right now?

The country and the economy are in a more different situation than when Obasanjo was president. You can't objectively compare the two.
If the country doesn't have any money to play with you can bring all the experts in the world and the economy will still require some time to get back on track.

On this context the President is right.
If one is not careful NIGERIA is design to make people poorer.
Not only his friend, even the country itself is getting poorer.

You simply can't afford it, we were living a fake subsidized life. It's not everyone that must use private jets. Most of us in Nigeria have cars and one or two okada and tricycle with plots of land, developed and undeveloped. The fact is that the people that this same us look up to abroad don't even have car. They have other priorities as cars are real liabilities for them in the abroad. You want to be like abroad but not ready to pay like abroad. Na taxi and train some big man dey enter abroad when they calculate amount for car lease or purchase.

It means nothing. Honda parts are ubiquitous. Cars are liabilities. If the guy drives those Rolls once monthly, they will still become scrap in ten years. When the mechanic comes calling, parts will be replaced on the regular. Rolls Royce parts have to be imported. He would otherwise sell those cars and purchase twenty Honda products. The funny part is he’ll still have change remaining.

if frugality is what tinubu is preaching, how well has he practiced it in relation to his stay in office so far and in how he has managed the country's finances?

You dey mind him. He lives with no limitations but he wants us to eat 101 and one of his zombies is already condemning those that shop at supermarkets instead of markets and roadsides as if the supermarkets don't contribute to the economy. Poverty of the mind is the worst and I refuse to have it. If everybody buys at the market and roadsides, what then happens to the supermarkets, their employees, the banks and their employees that survive on interest from loans they give to these supermarkets? More unemployment more crime but the cretins that support the fake economist that calls himself their leader keep spewing rubbish here. Ediots

You are actually right. The difference is 7up.
I went to Roban to buy Titus canned fish and the price is N1780.
I came outside and went to the local market the price changed to N1500.
