A flight en route from Baku to Grozny crashed in Aktau, #Kazakhstan, after reportedly requesting an emergency landing.

The aircraft was carrying 67 passengers and five crew members, according to Azerbaijani agency APA.

Kazakhstan authorities confirmed there are survivors from the crash.

Azerbaijan Airlines stated that the accident was caused by a collision with a flock of birds.

But I think they cause damage through the engine open holes, like they are drawn to it by wind.

Much like the effect we experience when a speeding trailer passes you walking by.
One feels the effect of the wind it drags alongside.

Yes, when the strike onto the rotor engine. It's like you using your hand to stop a rotating ceiling fan.

For a plane, if the engine is not restarted on time, a crash is imminent.

Ever heard the phrase "bird strike"?

Like it's a situation where a flock of birds or an unfortunate bird flies into an oncoming plane.

Typically they strike the fuselage. On some occasions though they might hit the engine. If that happens that engine cand get damaged or even blow up.

Now if you have 2 bird strikes, 1 each hitting the 2 engines, that's a serious problem. Its already bad enough hitting and taking out 1 engine.

Now imagine the 2 engines are gone.
