I didn't follow it, but I think they released or acquitted him according to what I heard. If he's allowed to go free, that will make it okay for blacks to be attacked everywhere like Trayvon Martin, at the same time they said he was saving a lady or was it a black lady? What takes away from that case is a woman that was set on fire in the train last week and another man that had 2 big knives on the in New York.

The world has really gone crazy.

You are doing well. grin What do you think about the kangaroo judgment on the Daniel Penny's trial?

Thank you sir!

There's no Santa Claus in the Bible, I think that thing is satanic and I have stopped Christmas surprises. You won't believe that I didn't put up Christmas tree, I've not had a fresh tree for the past 2 years and the plastic one I have and brought out of the closet is still in the box on my living room floor I just don't have the will to put it up for the past 3 days. Is God telling me something? I really wanted to put it up but i just keep putting the time off, I would love to have the lights in the house, maybe I'll do it in this morning. I know about the history of Christmas trees and the connections with bohemian grove, but I'll be sanctifying mine if I do put it up.

Horrific bodycam footage shows New York prison guards beating inmate Robert Brooks to death as he's restrained
By BETHAN SEXTON FOR DAILYMAIL.COM

Published: 21:47, 27 December 2024 | Updated: 08:37, 28 December 2024

An inmate was fatally beaten to death by prison guards who savagely punched and kicked him as he lay shackled and defenseless, horrific bodycam footage shows.

Robert Brooks, 43, was pronounced dead on December 10, the morning after the brutal assault at the Marcy Correctional Facility in Oneida County.

His final, agonizing moments were caught on body worn cameras used by prison officers which showed the attack as well as several prison wardens failing to intervene.

Thirteen correction officers and a nurse implicated in the attack will face termination, according to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who said she was 'outraged and horrified' by videos of the 'senseless killing.'

The footage was made public Friday by the New York Attorney General Letitia James and shows three correction officers carrying Brooks aloft into a medical examination room.

Once inside, they repeatedly punching Brooks in the face and groin as he sits handcuffed on a medical examination table.

At one point one of the officers shoves his boot into Brooks' stomach, forcing him backwards, while another yanks him up by his neck and drops him back on the table.

As he becomes limp and unresponsive, another officer enters and shackles his ankles with a chain.

They then haul him into a corner and are seen struggling to keep him upright as his body lolls backwards.

He is placed back on the medical table, but remains unresponsive even as the guards try to rouse him.

The officers then remove the his shirt and pants as he lies motionless and bloodied on his back.

Equally disturbing is the number of officers who witness the attack and no nothing to intervene.

Brooks was declared dead at a hospital the following morning. Preliminary findings from a medical examination indicate 'concern for asphyxia due to compression of the neck as the cause of death, as well as the death being due to actions of another,' according to court filings. The final results of the autopsy are still pending.

The videos do not include audio because the body cameras had not been activated by the officers wearing them.

James said her office was investigating the use of force that led to the death, but did not say whether any of the officers involved in the beating would face criminal charges.

'These videos are shocking and disturbing and I advise all to take appropriate care before choosing to watch them,' she added.

New York Attorney General Letitia James said she released the footage in the interests of transparency

Brooks had been serving a 12 year prison sentence for first-degree assault since 2017, according to the department.

He had arrived at the Marcy Correctional Facility only hours before the beating, after being transferred from another nearby state prison, officials said.

The Correctional Association of New York, a prison oversight group, said they had documented reports of pervasive brutality and racism inside the Marcy Correctional Facility during a monitoring visit two years ago.

In a statement, the president of the New York State Sheriffs' Association, Craig DuMond, said he was 'shocked, like all right thinking people, by the actions' of the officers.

'No human being should be treated that way by another human being,' he added.

'And it is made even worse by the fact that the extreme cruelty was inflicted by those entrusted with the power of government, against those they were entrusted to guard and protect.'

'I do not take lightly the release of this video, especially in the middle of the holiday season,' James told the New York Times.

Governor Hochul has ordered a 'full and immediate investigation' into Brooks' death

'But as the attorney general I release these videos because I have a responsibility and duty to provide the Brooks family, their loved ones and all New Yorkers with transparency and accountability.'

Governor Hochul has ordered a 'full and immediate investigation' into Brooks' death.

'Like all New Yorkers, I was outraged and horrified after seeing footage of the senseless killing of Robert Brooks,' she said.

'I have been clear that it is the responsibility of the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to provide appropriate care and protection for those in its custody, and I will not tolerate anyone who violates that responsibility.

'The State of New York has zero tolerance for individuals who break the law, and I am committed to holding everyone involved fully accountable.

'Once again, I want to offer my deepest condolences to Mr. Brooks' family and loved ones as they grieve his tragic death.'

DOJ announces lawsuit against New York, Hochul and state AG James over ‘sanctuary’ status

AG Bondi announces lawsuit against New York, Hochul and state AG James over 'sanctuary' status

The Justice Department announced Wednesday it was suing New York state over its policy of limiting cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, with Gov. Kathy Hochul, state Attorney General Letitia James and DMV chief Mark Schroeder in US Attorney General Pam Bondi’s crosshairs.

“This is a new DOJ,” Bondi announced. “New York has chosen to prioritize illegal aliens over American citizens. It stops. It stops today.”

“As you know, we sued Illinois,” Bondi added. “New York didn’t listen. So now, you’re next.”

The lawsuit, filed in the Northern District of New York and obtained by The Post, targeted the Empire State’s “Green Light Law,” which grants driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants.

The 2019 law also bars inquiries into immigration status and bans the state DMV from sharing personal information with the feds and law enforcement unless ordered by a judge. Licensees are also alerted if a federal immigration agency requests their information.

“The United States is currently facing a crisis of illegal immigration. And the Federal Government is set to put a stop to it,” the complaint said. “While States are welcome partners in that effort, it is the prerogative as separate sovereigns to refrain. But a State’s freedom to stand aside is not a freedom to stand in the way. And where inaction crosses into obstruction, a State breaks the law.

“The State of New York is doing just that. It must be stopped.”

The filing added that DMV information is “critical” for federal immigration agencies to “identify and remove those who are here illegally” and keep their officers safe.

“From vehicle stops to border crossings to executing arrests and searches, immigration authorities depend on these records to assess real-time the situations they face and the people they encounter,” the complaint continued.

“But New York’s Green Light Law deprives them of this insight; and in turn, unnecessarily forces brave law enforcement officers into dangers and uncertain circumstances.”

Hochul “has been clear from day one: she supports deporting violent criminals who break our laws, believes that law-abiding families should not be targets, and will coordinate with federal authorities who have a judicial warrant,” her press secretary Avi Small said in a statement before the lawsuit was filed.

James also fired back in a statement hours later.

“Our state laws, including the Green Light law, protect the rights of all New Yorkers and keep our communities safe. I am prepared to defend our laws, just as I always have.”

A source familiar told The Post that Hochul and President Trump had “tentatively agreed” to meet next week when she is in Washington, DC, for the National Governors Association meeting.

Last week, the Justice Department asked a federal judge to immediately strike down sanctuary policies in Illinois and Chicago, arguing that state and local officials “are an obstacle to the Federal Government’s enforcement of the immigration laws and discriminate against federal immigration enforcement.”

Bondi on her first day in office also froze all DOJ funding for 60 days to so-called “sanctuary jurisdictions” from New York to California.

In 2023, those law enforcement grants to New York City alone amounted to more than $1.56 billion, according to the Center for Immigration Services, a conservative nonprofit research organization.

The Justice Department had been expected to fork over more than $8 billion in funding to city agencies in fiscal year 2025, municipal data show.

But Bondi ordered her department to “not enter into any new contract, grant, or other agreement to provide Federal funding to non-governmental organizations that support or provide services, either directly or indirectly (e.g., through sub-contracting or other arrangements), to removable or illegal aliens.”

The moves come as border czar Tom Homan ramps up immigration removal proceedings nationwide, kicking out 11,000 migrants targeted for having been charged or convicted of crimes.

Some migrants being deported have been flown to the US military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, while others have been jetted back to their native countries like Venezuela or Colombia — with the latter buckling under Trump’s to levy import taxes.

Congressional Republicans in blue states had long advocated for the abolition of sanctuary policies, pointing to migrants who evaded federal custody and went on to commit heinous crimes.

The first bill Trump signed upon his return to the White House chipped away at the localities’ power by forcing them to deport migrants charged with theft, assault, or other serious crimes causing bodily injury or death.

That legislation, the Laken Riley Act, was named for the 22-year-old Georgia nursing student slain by an illegal migrant who had previously been arrested for stealing.

A member of the vicious Tren de Aragua gang, Jose Ibarra had been released into the US by the Biden administration after crossing the southern border.

He had also slipped through authorities’ fingers after being charged with child endangerment in Queens, New York.

Trump signed a Day One executive order tasking Bondi with reviewing state and local sanctuary policies, revoking federal funding and imposing civil or criminal penalties on those not cooperating with immigration authorities.

In coordination with Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, the AG was also deputized to claw back federal funding “determined to be in violation of law or to be sources of waste, fraud, or abuse.”

Reps for Schroeder did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
