Dune: Prophecy.......7.5/10

A really gradual slowburn.....things move at snail pace in the first 3 episodes. But when you get past that things really unfolds as it delves deeper into the Dune Universe lore.

It's steeped in the history of the Sisterhood or the Bene Gesserit and the brutal feud rivalry between the Harkonnens and the Atreides family.
Has themes of religion just like the movies but this one more closely gravitates towards politics and power play.

I expected more as this delves into the history of the Imperium but this lacked the spice of the Dune films.
The characters are mainly it's sole strength with the Harkonnen sisters — Valya and Tula piquing my interest the most. Travis Fimmel as Desmond Hart played a good one being their antagonist.

Regardless of it's storytelling faults it retains the beautiful cinematography and quality of the cinematic movies. The CGI matches and the tone somewhat similar despite less action.

Things truly hit a boiling point with that high stakes finale....
Highly anticipating how the story unfolds with season 2.

it's nit actually a slow burn, if you've watched the dune movies, 1&2 and understand the dialogues in this series, you'll getting hooked in 20 minutes of episode 1...its a nice series.

I've watched both DUNE movies before the show and I'd still say it's a slow burn compared to the movies. Things only really kicked off after the 3rd episode.

It's storytelling isn't even as solid as the movies and one can easily move on from it if not fully invested in the universe.

that's strange, for me, 20 minutes into episode one I was already fascinated by vayla hakonnen.. To me the story is top notch. From episode 2..

Squid Game season 2 was going so well until the last episodes.

You know that thing they do in horror movies where characters are being stupid to push the plot forward.

They ruined Squid Game season 2 with the last two episodes. The main character who was being smart and cautious most of the time suddenly became a complete idiot.

I don't know what the writers were thinking when they wrote that horrendous last episodes.

Episode 7 will leave you scratching your head.

Nothing about his plan makes sense at all.

What the hell was he thinking?

I will come back with SPOILERS later. It seems like most people on this thread haven't watched it yet.

Squid Game season 2 is an unnecessary sequel. But it was well written and I was enjoying it until they messed it up at the end.

What a shame.

Netflix should just released everything at once, I don't see wtf dem making it longer.

1) This season, there is no emotional attachment or a bond to any cast and the games is not as hard as S1, too easy, predictable and no fun.

2) As a old player, you should be smart cus you knew cameras are everywhere and your openly giving out information about the game and you think them won't change it?

3) One of the reason why we love S1 is that each game has something meaningful or something you can learn from about human when it's comes between life and death like Betrayal, Dishonesty, Disloyalty and lies just to make it to another round is missing in this season

4) you will likely know who will live and who will die

5) WTF is that gay/trans doing there? Like seriously the reason why he's there in the game is nonsense and na only Netflix Kdrama dem for dy see all gay people

This season was more of a ideological confrontation between Front man and Gi Hun...

You can see how Front man kept taunting and playing Gi Hun...
You can see his smile when Gi Hun chose to sacrifice his own people for the greater good....
The same Gi Hun who was all about saving everybody...

Also, now that most of the Xs are dead...the games will go on without any interruption

I think the weak points of season 2 were the fact that there were less games and the side characters were not as interesting as season 1

The thing is Gi Hun was fv.cked whichever way you look at it. The Front Man had him in the balls, baba had no choice. Any of the two choices i.e between killing the Oes or stopping the game would both mean that people has to die and that goes against his idea of saving everybody. You don't expect him to suggest that the Xs sit ducks while the Oes take em' all out.

Let's not forget his main reason for rejoining the game. His mission from the onset was to end the games and honestly I wouldn't fault his choice and he would at least stood a chance if not for the mole in their midst. If this were a real scenario and I was part of the game, I'd rather take my chances, fight in the revolution and die than wait for them to pup my head in one of those silly games, imagine dying because I am tensed and can't spin ordinary okoso.

You know at a point I thought to myself, why don't they just let the Xs go and continue with the Oes. Why let Xs suffer and die because of the greed of the Oes.
Then it dawned on me that if we're to be done that way, the Xs would have to forfeit their earnings so far.


The predominant themes were greed and morality. Unlike the first one were a lot of other themes were explored, season 2 seemed to have played it quite safe. Nevertheless it was good but not as good as the first one.

That jun.kie with Thanos did he die? Because I didn't get to see him again after everything. I really wished he died.

What if could have been titled Captain Carter..smh

Since episode 1 I have known he's a damn weak man. Even though he's forging an alliance.. the way the guy was speaking to him in public with disrespect rages my blood ehn.. I dey vex for my seat.
