This must be a joke. I am in the same UK and I haven't seen where Tax and NI would be higher than Ur take home pay. On a norms, a payment that is less than 220 is not taxable as you are entitled to 12,740 tax free per year. And 220 x 52 weeks ( 1 year ) would be 11,440.

So, I blv all of those posts are for cruise just to avoid getting billed from people from home ( Naija )

There are people here in Nigeria living far better than many of you there.

Personally, I don't like UK, to be honest the only thing that can bring me there is if I am attending a business summit or meeting or I am on a vacation to anfield or Liverpool FC home city.
You guys can even achieve what a proper naija person will achieve in 10 years over there.

The current minimum wage for those whose ages are 21 and over is £11.44.

Therefore, £21 an hour (£43,680 per year) is considered a decent salary in the UK because that's what most skilled workers are making, especially the entry-level ones with 0 to 5 years of experience.

Some pharmacists and senior nurses are in this category because they are making around that amount per year.

HMRC took £450 out of my pay last month. It's damn bloody. I no fit cry.

HMRC will write and refund you if they overcharge you by the end of the fiscal yr March.

HMRC has refunded me about more than 700 quids on 2 occasions.

Depending on where you work, they will also refund you if you are overtaxed. I work for the govt and in my first yr was refunded above 2k cos the wrong tax code was used initially by my manager and later rectified. Those months I was overcharged, was returned with apology letter.
