Herdsmen is like a professional tailor or mechanic. They provide service for others. Cow grazing, pasturing etc Herdsmen attacked here, herdsmen attacked there, abeg whose cows are they protecting? If they are apprentice of the business men and women in cow business, how have they been having access to arms and ammunitions? |

They serve cabals. Have you ever seen soldiers or police officers searching herdsmen at checkpoints the way those police officers and soldiers search other road users? Or, have you ever seen on the news that the police arrested a herdsman for carrying arm? Ask yourself why it doesn't happen despite the fact that herdsmen move around with weapons. helinues:Those are the cabals. Maybe you don't know how and why they are cabals. You will understand who they are any day you witness their interference in any herdsmen-related case. Their actions never surface on the media. Herdsmen are smokescreen. Factory owners get arrested or punished in another way when their employees commit crimes in the process of the factory's operations. Shop owners get arrested or punished in another way when their apprentices or sales girls commit crimes in the shops. But when it comes to herdsmen, nobody refers to their employers. If you pick up arms against headsman, the government security agency will come for you. If a herdsman commits a crime and you capture and take him to a police station, he will be freed immediately and sometimes mysteriously. Despite all the atrocities being committed by hessmen in every part of the country, the government and the media are yet to prescribe herdsmen as terrorists. Can't you see the handwriting on the wall? |

You are asking the right question. We should start with Buhari their patron. |
| Re: Herdsmen Crisis, When Are We Going To Discuss About The Business Men Arming Them by helinues(op): 7:29am On Dec 28, 2024 |
Chubhie:Not just only Buhari, GEJ is also one of their patrons, does that mean GEJ is also arming them? We have reasonable southerners who are I to cow business. They have cows in South and North which the herdsmen have been helping them to raise. When are we going to talk about them? Herdsmen from North can't just come and settle into any forest in southern Nigeria without being invited. Whose cows are they protecting that made them to be trespassing on people's farm? |

helinues:. I thought you were only fixated on South East issues.. Fulani and Yoruba are one~ Tinubu. So if Fulanis are armed, it means we Yorubas are arming them. Simple logic. |

| Re: Herdsmen Crisis, When Are We Going To Discuss About The Business Men Arming Them by helinues(op): 7:33am On Dec 28, 2024 |
Biodun556:Exactly. That should be where to start the fight against the back and forth clashes between the herdsmen and the farmers. The owners of the cows have been silent as if they knew nothing about what have been going on |

helinues:There are a lot of people in the east only herding igbo cows. No clashes with host community. The clashes with farmers are mostly with fulani herders. Why this? Are the fulani being targeted or there's more to this? Is it the case that our government can't secure our forests? If our government cant guarantee security of lives and properties, why do we have them in the first place? |
| Re: Herdsmen Crisis, When Are We Going To Discuss About The Business Men Arming Them by helinues(op): 7:39am On Dec 28, 2024 |
Chubhie:Sebi Igbo people are mostly into business, you have no idea how many Igbo's are into cow business. Not just the Igbo's but Southerners. I know of a man back then in my hood who has cows in different states in North. Weekly, they can bring like 20 for slaughtering. He has little ranch where those cows are kept. His cows in North, it's some herdsmen that are looking after them for him |

helinues:You are crying wolf when the horse has left the stable already. You did not cry when Buhari a Fulani was in charge, you were playing sophisticated politics because you wanted to look good in the eyes of the Fulani because of votes. You mor0ns even told Ibos to 'Shut up' when they cried about the killings and planes dropping supplies for Fulani bushmen. You declared 'Fulanis and Yorubas are one'. Now e don set, you and the mugu called TopBanter don dey find alliance. The East will be foolish to support you in anything you try to do to against Fulanis.. Too late to cry when the head is off. ![]() |

helinues:It's straightforward... identify the owners of the cows in the region where people died, and you will know the real killers. "Herdsmen" is just being blown out of proportion. They are paying media houses to push the narrative |

| Re: Herdsmen Crisis, When Are We Going To Discuss About The Business Men Arming Them by Nobody: 8:06am On Dec 28, 2024 |
helinues:Same practice cuts across Africa. Take for example in Ghana, fulani and farmers were having clashes until the communities rose up and cut them into place. Lots of cows were slaughtered and the government backed the communities. Perhaps the herders are close to sit of government in Nigeria. Rumour has it that a lot of generals are into it. |

| Re: Herdsmen Crisis, When Are We Going To Discuss About The Business Men Arming Them by Nobody: 8:56am On Dec 28, 2024 |
helinues:Do you know that most of these herders travel across borders with cows? Nobody invites them. They're always on the move seeking for green pastures. When the fulanis started travelling with theirs cows through their routes, there were no communities there most times. They would've have been the biggest landowners if they had learnt to adapt to changing times. |

helinues:Bro, the best a smart and result-driven President can do is give every region the power to protect the lives and property of indigenes optimally. Discussion achieves nothing in highly disunited and divided Nigeria. The list of those sponsoring and abetting terrorism, handed to Nigeria, remains gathering dust in a filing cabinet somewhere or perhaps even binned. Some myopic and hateful people just don't understand how important it is to support Tinubu's deliverance of regional autonomy that will allow us all to have full and Indigenous control over our security and affairs. |

UltraSolid:The killings in Benue state is like cat and mouse game. Do you still remember the name Ghana? How the guy was executed just like that should tell you that all the parties involved are only crying foul. Though they might have genuine grievances but only peace talk can settle the matter. The hard part of the issue is the herdsmen vacating places they have occupied. That might take time to be achieved |
| Re: Herdsmen Crisis, When Are We Going To Discuss About The Business Men Arming Them by UltraSolid: 9:19am On Dec 28, 2024 |
Chubhie:They are and this is why a smart President would understand it is an exercise in futility trying to take on those who sponsor and arm herdsmen with expensive assault rifle. Simply bring in a new system to allow Nigerians protect themselves, their properties and farms optimally in their own land. It is a macabre joke and a disgrace to Nigeria that Fulani herdsmen have sophisticated assault rifles while their victims, and even those legally convened to protect them like Amotekun, have pea shooters and dagger yet that sad reality drags on. It is not rocket science. |

This issue of herdsmen is just kind of to me. The matter get as e be.. I’m also into farming. I started cow farming about 2 years ago. The people that brought me into the game are fulanis. They’ve been living in this particular town for more than 30 years and they all speak Yoruba. The town is Ishaga-orile.. They’ve been helping me a lot right from the time I started up till now. There are lots of people too that they’ve helped and still helping. I’ve never heard anything like herdsmen or herdsmen attack.. I also have a farm at Odogbolu. I drive to these places and I’ve never had any problem of herdsmen this or that. Sometimes I’ll wake up about 3/4am so as to be able to return to Abeokuta as early as possible - I only go there to supervise. I’ve got people working for me.. Many people into cow business do prefer using Fulani as their workers compare to any other body self. They don’t carry guns, just their control stick and water and sometimes cutlass incase they catch bushmeat.. So I’m always surprised whenever I log on nairaland to read herdsmen news carrying gun… There’s definitely more to those set of herdsmen carrying gun! Those ones, if they’re real, must be under some people using them for something else! But definitely not cow! |

helinues:Yes Terwase Akwaza. I don't believe peace talk can solve anything. We are past that stage now. You'd be shocked to know the number of non-Nigerian Fulanis with NIN and Nigerian ID doing as they please completely unchecked in porous ane badly exposed Nigeria. What peace talk can sway those type who have no love or affinity for Nigeria and Nigerians? Why do you think our Minister of interior is trying to toughen the process of gaining a Nigerian passport so that, as much as possible, only deserving and genuine Nigerians get them? Only measures such as our Minister of Interior is taking, comprehensive reform of policing and crime-fighting, can deliver Nigeria. |
