Lol. Threatening a man who has implemented unusually bold reforms (with its inherent hardships on the people) in his 1st term with “we’ll not support your re-election” is the antics of scared people. The northern political elite sense that Tinubu may “win” 2027 re-election with/without their support & that is their greatest fear hence they’re showing their hands this early. That fear is borne from the fact that the man the thought they would pocket & remote-control is already showing in his first term that he’s his own man & isn’t afraid to go head-to-head against the northern political behemoths who have always held all Presidents of Southern extraction since 1999 (save POBJ & now PBAT) hostage. Even OBJ didn’t dare bare his fangs until he’d his re-election in the bag! Whether the Tax Reforms Bills scale National Assembly passage or not, swords have been drawn, blood has been tasted & there’s no telling for sure who will surrender first but knowing the antecedents of the dramatis personae in this entire saga, it’s going to be a fight till the end! May the strongest fighter win! |

Justiceleague1:You are just being stupidly smart by half. Why didn't you lots unite with the cone heads to support an igbo presidency? Now that your brother is coming under serious attack from your slave masters, you now have the gutter mouth to say the south should unite. Baba make everybody bear him papa name. Afterall when Tinubu is making appointments, does he remember the Igbos? Go get a life and don't disturb our peace. FYI I am not Igbo. I stand for fairness. |

Justiceleague1:The British that joined the north and the south did it in such a manner that the south can never unite against the north, meaning the north will always have the upper hand to suppress and dominate the south. And since the north is backward thinking, the south can't move forward. We all remain bedridden so Britain can continue to rape us front and back.

Nothing concern the igbos for this mata. If the so called igbo lawmakers do absentia, no body fo send. The northerners have the systemic vote, they will overturn the bill based on their principle. The igbos have better things to do. All these tactics that okp*lor eyes wants to play, is not from the heart. It is more so from his natural divisive tendencies. He will soon go and lay down to one sultan and emir, with big money and promises of oil wells that is not his then they will settle the mata. Very corrupt people. |

“Section 77 of the bill is the main issue. Consumers in Nigeria are not only Yoruba or Lagosians; they are all over the nation. When I drink Pepsi here in Abuja, I have to pay VAT to Lagos – why? If that is the case, then for any food item brought from the North, the VAT on it should be paid to the North.Educated idiots abound in high places. The VAT arrangement we have already ensures that VAT from food from north stays with the north 100% unlike Lagos who gets a tiny cut of industrial output they shoulder the environmental and systemic burden of. |

aylipple:He cannot win without their support. That is impossible. What he is banking on is to divide them as much as he can. If he can get Kwankwaso, Atiku and maybe another semi-popular Northerner to contest again, that's a good first step. However, Tinubu's overconfidence may politically destroy him in the end because while he should making the effort to make the entire south detest him less, he seems not to care. Yes, some groups will never vote for him but it is better that such groups avoid the election than trooping to the opponent's side. Even OBJ didn’t dare bare his fangs until he’d his re-election in the bag!The issue with OBJ is that he was the president of a party he doesn't control. He was literally imposed on the party as an outsider. So, he has to be more careful till he secures party control and even with that he was able to eventually get his way on every issue save the third term. It got so bad, that members of his party made legal moves to impeach him then over his strong headedness. Before he later took his pound of flesh and crippled the political careers of the arrowheads. |

This hue and cry about the proposed tax bill is an indication of desperation on the part of the Northern so-called leaders. One may be misled into thinking that they truly care about the interest and welfare of their own people. Alas! This is far from the truth! For years, they have continued to see their own people as fiefs with the unending almajiri system to show for it! The problems facing the North are myriad but none has attracted this kind of vociferousness. The problems of out-of-school children, sicknesses and diseases, insecurity, etc are kept in the back burner because they and their households aren't directly affected. This tax reform is seen as a direct threat to their personal pockets as there would be less money to steal. The day that the Northern youth could see through their shenanigans, the day that they would be set free. @hotseat |

It's either Tinubu has absolute confidence in INEC repeating what they did in 2023 regardless of how Nigerians vote or he isn't interested in second term. Otherwise, I don't see how he will win with only yoruba Muslim votes. |

Justiceleague1:You are fool if you don't know that this useless Tinubu has been the number agent of disunity in the south and he can't run away from his payback time. This same useless Tinubu frustrated Jonathan with the north to the point of frustrating even the free education program given to children in the north with his Muslim connection. To most of you Yorubas, Nigeria just started before Tinubu and we should forget all his atrocities. Mumu brain thinking they can play the law of nature. |
