R.I.P 🕯️🕯️🕯️DIG Moses Jitoboh.
He was deprived of being the Inspector General of Police twice, simply because he is from Bayelsa State.

Buhari refused to appoint him as IGP, despite being the most qualified senior officer judging by the 2020 police act which requires the next IGP to have a compulsory 4 years of service left, before he or she can be appointed as IGP.
Jitoboh had 9 years of service left, but Buhari appointed Alkali Baba IGP, who had just 2 years left.

When IGP Alkali retired in 2023, after an illegal extension of tenure, the only two senior police officers qualified for one to be appointed as IGP judging from the 2020 police act were DIG Frank Mba, who had 4 years, and DIG Moses Jitoboh, who had 6 years. For context, in 2020 Frank Mba was a commissioner of Police, so he wasn't qualified amongst the top ranking police officers suitable to be appointed as IGP by then. But between 2020, and 2023, he had a double promotion, that qualified him for such an appointment in 2023. But Tinubu ignored both Frank Mba and Moses Jitoboh, to appoint Kayode Egbetokun who had just one year left in service as IGP.

He ignored Frank Mba who had 4 years and Moses Jitoboh who had 6 years of service left.
Because Moses Jitoboh was a senior DIG before Kayode Egbetokun, he was compulsorily retired after Egbetokun was appointed as IGP.
He is supposed to officially retire from police in 2029, but was kicked out before his time. He had good 5 years left even before his death today.

for him to have six years left in service as a DIG, shows he had enjoyed tribalism of acceleration during the Jonathan presidency, so no body is clean. Mba had double promotions, what happened to other police officers from the southeast who were legimately denied promotion coz of MBA? police management team is based on federal character

fools like you will never attain positions because of your entitlement mentality and crass ignorance.the position of the IGP is not a rank or hierarchy in the nigerian police,it is based on appointment and the prerogative of the president.the late officer has attained the highest rank in the police and it is a tradition to retire all the officers that ranks over who is to be appointed. He was not the only person retired so because he his from your Bayelsa State now it becomes a crime. Some of una head don block and na stupidity and hypocrisy block am.
So the most senior officer in a division automatically becomes the DPO or it is a crime to deploy another officer to become the DPO and redeploy all officers that are above his rank.
You can take this piece of advice,kill your self and when you get to the grave you create another state and make the man the IGP there. I wonder how a person can be in that rank and still have over 6years in service maybe he has been there for over 4years self,that one favors them so it is no offence

All these incoherent epistle is not necessary. The Police Act clearly states that only DIGs with a minimum of 4 years of service remaining should be appointed as IG.
Tinubu violated this provision by depriving this man and appointing someone with less than 4 years left. So, did Tinubu violate the Police Act in appointing the current IG?
