NGO accounts are corporate accounts. You need either a hardware token or soft token to transact on corporate accounts.

So first of all... What was hacked? NGO website or Bank account...

If its NGO website like he claimed... It's a lie!

If it's the NGO's corporate account.. Then he has to explain how the hackers got the OTP to transfer dujds out of the account

People will just be using the word "hacked" anyhow.

Going by VDMs earlier narration, I think the guy said too much and it probably led to this rubbish.

He said the website tracks SMS alert on his phone and uses that to compute the balance on the website, sounds like something you do with apps like tasker.

A third party could have done the maths, make an attempt at withdrawal to receive an OTP, then the software reads the message wrongly adds the OTP to the old balance and displays same in the website, hacker does the maths... Bam he has the OTP to confirm the withdrawal.

Omoooooo. Story might be true and dude will learn the hard way.

His logon access to the banking infrastructure could have been hijacked, but his bank account through a webapp was definitely not hacked.

"Hacked" is just like the go-to word on any cybersecurity issue, but not every cybersecurity exploit is a hack. He could have been tricked for the malicious actor to gain control of his device/auth devices and spoofed his password or something, but definitely wasn't a hack on his bank account, but perhaps, hack on other stuff.

If the account details and transaction details of an account is linked to the organization's website it can give hackers access to the bank account through stealing of details from the website.
