Statistics has shown that the South east region produces more yams per household than any other region in Nigeria.

Benue state is living on past glory of food basket of the nation not anymore, the biggest yam farmers in benue are from Zaki biam that's where the biggest yam market is , the insecurity in Zaki biam has destroyed that market, farmers no longer go to their farms for fear of getting killed in their farms , business people who were mostly igbo going there to buy yams no longer go there for fear of being kidnapped on the road to Zaki biam

North Central supposed be the highest but with the current herdsmen and farmers clash, it reduced farm/crop production in the region.

The sample for sure is defective.
Interviews that covered SE should be scrutinized.
Before you come for me, know that I worked with NBS and other Organizations for years.

Number of yams produced per household is different from yams bought.
Rarely will you enter a household in Benue without at least a 20*70heaps of yams; that's a minimum for even civil servants.
I'm trying to wrapy head how Eastern states beat Nasarawa, Niger and Benue States.

Worked in the East with NBS, saw the opportunity and became a yam supplier all through my service year.

It's easy to see yam in NC than SE where it is considered to be equal in value with diamond.
