Edo Central By-Election: Esan Liberation Movement backs Hon. Ikpea’s senatorial bid


A Pan Esan Social political movement with membership strength of over eight hundred and fifty (850) cut across the five local governments in Esanland, The Esan Liberation Movement(ELM), said it had endorsed the former Edo State commissioner for Oil Gas and Solid Minerals, Hon. Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for Senate, to ensure the party’s victory in the 2025 senatorial by-election.

Esan Liberation Movement(ELM) coordinator, Hon. Prosper Iyere, made this known to newsmen in communique issued on said in Ekpoma on Saturday , said the choice of Hon. Ikpea, who is also a former Esan South East Local Government Council Boss, was born out of their convictions that the APC’s aspirant is highly competent and capable of offering quality representation for the zone.

Hon. Prosper recalled that Hon. Joseph Ikpea as a former local government chairman and Edo Central Senatorial District representative at the state primary education board changed the narrative and brought hope and succour to his constituency and his local government.

He said: “We have reviewed the political developments in the state and Edo Central Senatorial District in particular and we have decided to add our strong voices to it. Our decisions are far reaching as stakeholders and leaders of Edo central senatorial district.

“In this endorsement, we totally distance ourselves from any other adoptions and urge all the people of Edo central senatorial district to support the ambition of the APC’s aspirant, Hon. Joseph Ikpea.

“We have noted the caliber and competence of aspirants of all the political parties interested in the forthcoming re-run in the zone and collectively endorsed the All Progressives Congress’s aspirant, Hon. Joseph Ikpea for the position.

“We make this decision passionately without fear of contradiction. Edo Central needs a popular, competent and trustworthy choice to represent us at this time. Hon. Ikpea has shown competence and capacity to offer quality services to the senatorial district."

They further called on the people of Edo central senatorial district to support the ambition of Hon. Joseph Ikpea of All Progressives Congress in the forth coming bye election.

It will be difficult for him cos honourable Okojie, mercy Johnson husband is now the favourite. Hon Joseph Ikpea may takeover from hon Okojie in green Chambers.
