I see IPOB identifying with Isreal in the hope it will gain it favour and by extension, its support. However Isreal does not operate that way. Isreal has no foreign policy of arming groups. Besides Isreal has no problems with Nigeria and gains nothing from arming a group against the state of Nigeria. Israel is looking for legitimacy.

Iran on the other hand has armed capable groups in Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine. These are just the ones popularly known.
And make no mistakes, Iran is a very powerful country. Isreal may currently be winning against it but that is because of America and EU. Iran is one of those countries that stand on their own. It is also a cradle of civilisation and one of the richest countries in the world. It makes many of its own weapons and is the leader of the global Shi'ite movement and a potential superpower.
Also Iran has a beef with Nigeria and has incentive to interfere. Nigeria has persecuted Shiites before. Also Iran may want to secure a foothold in Africa.
If IPOB becomes a Shiite movement, it may successfully secure the support of Iran and change its reputation and strength, even if majority of Biafrans remain Christians. With Iran's support, the Alawiit of Syria which comprised only just about 20% of Syria ruled that country for over 50 years. Waiting for American or Jewish support for Biafra is of no consequence, they won't go against British interests. And neither will Russia help, they dont arm non-governmental groups as much as Iran. These countries have zero incentive to go against Nigeria
However we know IPOB will rather fail than go Islamic...so go figure 🙄

lol, every single country on earth has developed better than their 1960s state. The problem is that while most countries in Asia and southern Africa has had accelerated growth, Nigeria's growth has been painful to watch. The road you see today here, you may not see tomorrow. The infighting and tribalism got worse etc. Regional governments maybe the other alternative but Nigerian governments have kept playing around this. Maybe outright disintegration is the next best thing
