It's impossible to hack your account with just account numbers. The issue is that it doesn't end there, they will still call back and ask for other information .

That's why they use the otp method or by telling you your atm has been blocked, it's just guess work hoping you will call them and by so doing you reveal more information.
Let me give you an example, I was called and told to reset my password for my account failure of which my account will be blocked and my atm disabled, I promised to reset the password, but they want me to do it via otp, I dropped the call and ignored, because I don't have a physical atm, the virtual one self I hardly use it so that threat sent a signal to me. I just avoided them problem solved.

The will use social engineering you get your data . That's it .They they access your bank account.. The usually have an insider or they use a sophisticated software to pull that money out .
