General Obasanjo was a 5* Gen who tried to remove fuel Subsidy 4 times. 4 times he failed to remove it due to massive resistance from Nigerians.

General Buhari was another former military 5* General who removed Subsidy in 2016 after spending $6billion in 2yrs. He was forced to reintroduced the subsidy in 2017.
In fairness to him he was able to remove diesel and kerosene subsidy.. but failed to remove subsidy from the big elephant in the room... Petrol....
despite fixing dates severally to remove the subsidy Buhari couldn't muster enough courage to end the subsidy and ended up spending over $26billion on fuel Subsidy in 8yrs.,

in 16yrs two retired Generals spent $42billion on fuel Subsidy...

This was enough to fix Ajaokuta steel, the four refineries, and generate over 30,000Mw of electricity....

BAT a General in leadership vowed to remove fuel Subsidy when voted as president... true to his words... Subsidy is gone.....
Despite the resistance from wailers, minors, NLC , TUC, CSOs, PDP, LP and others...
Gen BAT has succeeded where other Generals failed....
after 18 months in power NGR has saved over $10billion

A true leader is judged based on his empathy towards his people and not the ability to make decisions that will put them in misery.

Tinubu’s predecessors showed empathy, they could not fight those that diverted the subsidy and chose not to tow the easy path, which is punish millions of Nigerians for the sins of a few stealing the money for subsidies.

Tinubu on the other hand chose the easy path which appears to be much more cruel to the masses. If he were to be a “General” as you tagged him, or half as brave as you call him, why did he not go after the subsidy fraudsters?

Celebrating a criminal mandate thief whose illegitimate government have brought shame, failure and pain on his people with his bolekaja policies is the highest form of brainlessness a person can go . Imagine a man worse than the worst leader in Africa- buhari…smh

Nigeria has too many problems. Corruption is one among others and subsidy was one as well. It takes one to go to focus on others so it is a good step. Another bigger problem is the general illiteracy of most Nigerians and that is what would change Nigeria if it can be tackled.

Subsidy has never been a problem. Never! The problem in it was the corruption which boils down to corruption.

As for me without any bias, I believe Tinubu will shock a lot of people to become the very best president Nigeria have had since independence.

He may not be the best man now but time never disappoints and I believe he can do far more than what we even expect of him.

People like him do not want to prove themselves cause they know what they are capable of and so can not be controlled or tuned into doing things to please some few.

Tinubu is actually dismantling the Cabals of Aso Rock without thinking twice. Look at the tax reform bills and the pressure mounted upon him to withdraw the bill by the Cabals that have been holding Nigeria for years (The Northern Political Hegemony) yet Tinubu is faceless about it and has said the bill have come to stay unlike some presidents who would have considered their second tenure.

Look at our refeneries are coming back to life because why, Tinubu is not just pointing fingers at the Cabals; he is putting his fingers in their eyes.

I can't wait to see things turn around remarkably for Nigeria and to look at the face of those of you who think that Nigeria can never work and told you "Nigeria can work".

Tinubu was neither my first choice candidate and that was not because he was incapable but because of his age, I had wanted a more younger president someone like P.O but I have learnt to keep party politics aside and join hands with all to make Nigeria work no matter what it will take.
