A yet-to-be-named young man allegedly killed his mother, Justina Amunde and hid her body in a deep well in Cross River State.

The tragic incident happened on Sunday 29th December 2024 at Chairman Road, Ohong Community in Obudu Local Government Area of the State.

In a Video shared on Facebook by Okoi Promise, community members are seen pulling the lifeless body of the woman out from the well.

“The young boy grabbed his mom when she returned from church and tied her up. He was assisted by his friend to throw his mom into a well. He threatened the house help and told her if she said anything he would kill her," a community member narrated.

“He took her (housemaid) on a bike, maybe to kill her or something, we don’t know but was intercepted by a vigilante. The girl narrated the story.”

The suspect was said to have escaped.

The Land of Obudu in Cross River State where the immediate past Governor of the State, Prof Ben Ayade Hails from is a Cursed Land.

A tale was told by some elders of a stranger who was a widow, came to settle in the land of Obudu many years ago, for greener pastures, with her only son, but her son was innocently accused of theft and was immediately lynched to death...
The widow, on her quest for justice and vengeance, suffered same fate as the villagers collectively buried her alive.
while they were putting her beneath the earth, she cried out blood from her eyes and laid numerous curses upon the land, some of her words were that "there will be continuous blood shed in the land till the end of time"

So ever since then, Obudu has been a land of bewitchment, untimely avoidable killings, evil acts within families like blindness, madness etc, hatred amongst friends, unnecessary envy amongst peers leading to poisoning one another, constant occultic rivalry claiming lives of many youths. Even the innocent are victims.
Alot of Cleansing has been going on year after year, but the situation seems unending.
Most people of the land usually avoid home for fear of the unknown.

This was a tale told many years ago, I donot know how true this is, but with what have been happening in the land of Obudu from time immemorial, one is compelled to believe that truly the land is Cursed.

May God save the Land of Obudu, Forgive their inequities and Restore Peace unto them. AMEN🙏
