They had to have asked for it, president Tinubu didn't just wake up and decided to approve a university. The killings over therehave reduced under president Tinubu but they and and some parts of Nigeria can still use some help with security, but will Nigerians allow what it takes.

There are tons of below par students without connection studying engineering and every single course in ABU from Southern Kaduna, this contradicts your story.
There are families from Southern Kaduna that both parents attended ABU, all children attended ABU, it's very very common in southern Kaduna, southern Kaduna Indigene will not agree to what u are saying unless that person is trying to be mischievous.

These kind of stories to paint other people in a bad light is not worth it, if you want to form stories, form stories that holds water at least.
People from a particular region are the ones who always make claims like this about other people and region.

I schooled in ABU Zaria, department of chemical engineering to be precise, we had lots of Southern Kaduna students who were struggling to pass prerequisite courses, so how does that fit into the narrative of the student must he exceptionally brilliant or must have connections?
No Southern Kaduna Indigene will tell you that they are marginalized in terms of admissions, do you even realize that Southern Kaduna has well grounded professors holding offices in various offices in the Senate?
