Further reinforces my statement that the best country to japa to if your aim is making a sh!tload of money is God's Own United States!

Again, African Americans are the wealthiest set of black people. Few hours ago, I read someone wrote that it's easier to generate $1M in Nigeria than the US. A big fat lie! If it were so easy, why are there more poor people in Nigeria than many sub-Saharan African countries?

On the other hand, if you cannot migrate to the US, try to sell to Americans. Not only do they hav but plenty money, just like the Chinese, Japanese or Swiss, Americans spend a whole lot more than those nationals. The reason many countries don't want to piss off the US government.

God Bless Capitalism!

Special congratulations to Adebayo Ogunlesi. I wrote about him few years where I got to know that he was loaned to First Boston who later bought him over. Studied in the UK, but generated his wealth in the US. I love how the Chinese have grown, but the facts are stark clear, making a sh!tload of money would be easier to attain in the United States.

Bayo only did his undergrad in the UK and immediately moved to the States for law school and MBA at Harvard. His first job was after Harvard in yankee!!!

And he was never loaned or bought out by First Boston. He was a lawyer on a deal (representing his law firm that acted as legal adviser on that deal) that involved First Boston and used the contacts made on that deal to secure a job at First Boston. Get your facts right dude!!!!!

This is your second moniker you've used to mention me. Unfortunately, I cannot get the article where I read he was "loaned" (that wa the stated word).

No dey shout for my mention!

As for wealthy Nigerians living in Nigeria, that's obtainable anywhere in the world. I have never stated that people don't make it in Nigeria. My mom made her wealth in Nigeria and so did my ex-boss. In fact, I have defended the belief that Nigeria will generate more wealthy Nigerians than elsewhere. It's basic mathematics. So I don't get your animosity because I stated that Tonye Cole shares his time between Switzerland and Nigeria. Sure, he has real money, which doesn't belong to both of us. No dey put eye for another person wealth.

One thing I have noticed about Nairalanders like you is that you never give informed, balanced and honest responses to others' enquiries. You claim to have studied abroad, but the same you become angry when I and others provide informed responses to those who want to study abroad. You claim to have worked in the Big4, but I have never seen where you provided career advice or nuggets gleaned from your experiences at those firms. So, why become angry when others with similar experiences share theirs? Isn't that witchcraft?

The other day, you defended Nigerians who break laws in foreign countries. The same you have over a thousand monikers on this Nairaland causing a nuisance in the Food, Romance, Politics and many other sections. If you could cause so much nuisance in the Food section, that shows how terrible of a person you are in real life. You claim to know all and have been to all places, kuku share your experiences make others, especially younger ones, learn.

Oga, don’t argue with me. I know Bayo personally. He worked for a law firm that advised First Boston before joining First Boston.

(Most friends and colleagues today call him Bayo.) Ogunlesi joined the top-shelf New York City law firm Cravath, Swain & Moore, where he jumped at the chance to advise First Boston on a Nigerian gas project. Success in that effort landed him a better job at First Boston (which was acquired by Credit Suisse in 1997)

You responded to the guy that was talking about how most Nigerians that japa were economic migrants. And you used Tonye as an example. How can you? When I know Tonye is mostly in Naija.

The problem with you is that you read a lot of junk online and think that gives you the knowledge to state facts carelessly on Nairaland. Some of us actually know these people. Stop fucking arguing and humble yourself young man!

Btw, if your mum was so rich as you always claim, you wouldn’t japa to Japan of all places while hating on Naija every damn day. Oga, abeg face your hustle and leave Naija for those that have the means to live in the country jor angry

Me Big 4? Hahaha 😂

You are a clown. Walahi. Or maybe mixing me up with someone else. For your info, I just come here to catch cruise. When I see what is crap, I call it out. And to be honest, you talk a lot of crap. Not because you mean to. But because you read a lot of crap online and just believe them and try to state the junk you read as fact. That’s very dumb.

Whether you know Bayo is none of my business. Honestly, it is none of it. Bayo has done well for himself, so I am not fazed whether you know him or not. If you really do know him, then narrate your experiences.

Humble myself for a social media miscreant?! The gods forbid! The same narrative una use to run down the country. This is my issue with so-called intellectwats we've. They claim to know it all, but Nigeria is not displaying the result of that "profound knowledge".

Oh yes! My mom is rich. I chose Japan and was given the freewill to follow the process while she would pay. So far, I am proud of the choice I made. Lastly, I don't hate Nigeria. I hate how the elites have mismanaged it.

THREE NIGERIANS MAKE FORBES LIST OF 50 WEALTHIEST BLACK AMERICANS 2024

Only three Yoruba - Nigerians made it to the list Adebayo Ogunlesi, Tope Awotona, and Wemimo Abbey.

Forbes has unveiled its 2024 ForbesBLK 50 list, celebrating the achievements of the wealthiest and most influential Black Americans.

What Forbes said

Adebayo Ogunlesi, with a net worth of $1.7 billion, stands out as a pioneering force in global infrastructure investment. As chairman and co-founder of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), Ogunlesi led the private equity firm through a transformative acquisition by BlackRock in 2024 for $12.5 billion.

Tope Awotona, the founder and CEO of Calendly, has redefined efficiency in scheduling and holds a net worth of $1.4 billion.

Wemimo Abbey, at just 32, is the youngest Nigerian on the list and cofounder of Esusu, an African fintech company addressing financial inclusion. Esusu helps renters build credit by reporting rent payments to credit bureaus, a service utilized by more than 20,000 properties and benefiting 1.8 million Americans.

Congratulations to them, This shows that you do not need to do anything illegal to be recognized. It does not come as a surprise that only men from the Yoruba Ethnic group made it to the list.
