I have the same case too. I did my interview with spouse in Abuja on 16th December and i was told its successful. However, i got an email with supplementary questions to answer and reply the visa admin. So i did just that and they confirmed receipt of my email. But my wife was issued the visa. What that means is that you are placed on" administative processing" they will contact us when they are ready to issue the visa after their background checks.

For me i saw that my passport was ready for pickup at OIS so i send some and collected the passports for the interim until they ask me to send it back to the embassy. check your email junk for the additional questions.

Hi Adaeze, please did they call you from Lagos or Abuja? It seems only the people that attended physical interviews are getting calls/ emails from the embassy for the follow up interview.
Also, please can you PM me the contact details that reached out to you, I want to try if they would respond to me...waiting is a bit frustrating as I cannot reach them neither can I reschedule my appointment even after sending emails to the Lagosniv, going there physically and raising tickets on AVITS.
Please is there anyone here who did an IW drop off and got a 221g slip get called/ emailed to come in for a follow up interview?

So, after filling out the DS160 form, you will then proceed to create a profile account on the AVITS platform here: https://www.usvisaappt.com/visaapplicantui/login if you don't have an account already.

After creating an account, please follow through the process to activate your account. After the activation is done, you'll be able to create an application request and begin your scheduling process. I believe you can pay online but when I did mine, I made a cash deposit payment at a First Bank branch. See here for more details on payment: https://ng.usembassy.gov/visas/important-visa-information/

If you seek any clarification along the process, do well to ask.

Hello Bosses in the house, I paid application fee for my family and I since September on the avits platform, I checked back a couple of days later to schedule appointment but saw an error message that the payment was not successful due to insufficient amount paid but I was debited (I'm thinking this could have been a case of exchange rate). I have not been able to get this resolved since then, several tickets have been raised and even chats and calls but no resolution yet. Please is anyone experiencing this or does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this, thank you.

Yes they give free SIM cards upon arrival. They even give you free iPhones at the port of entry. Most times they offer free hotels and free rides too

- Is it advisable to schedule a return flight as far as between 5-6 months? Is this a safe option or does it pose any risk?

I selected a May 6 visa appointment date, and I was trying to reschedule it for an earlier date. However, it is asking for confirmation as shown in the attached picture. If I click "Confirm," does it mean the earlier appointment date will be canceled, even if I decide not to select a new date?

No free sims like some other countries.

Check for the airports WiFi, you can use that.

I made a visa payment on the AVITS portal two weeks ago via online transfer to First Bank Direct, but the payment is yet to be confirmed, and I am unable to book an appointment. I have raised a ticket on the AVITS portal with no response, sent emails to nigeria@usvisaappt.com and LagosNIV@state.gov without receiving feedback, and contacted the First Bank Contact Centre, providing all the necessary details, but still received no assistance.

I also entered the reference number and date under the bank deposit details, which showed "bank details updated successfully," but the page then redirects back to "generate deposit slip." I have also called +234 201 343 8900 all to no avail. Does anyone know how long it takes for Visa payment confirmation on the AVITS Portal?

Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Is there anything else I should do? I would appreciate your assistance.

Hi, pls how do you pay to First bank> My Mum went and was asked for a code. On AVITS; it doesnt give that option , only to pay in dollars. Can it be paid with a dollar card from outside Naija or must the transaction originate from Naija/ First bank?
