Great.

This day is not even pro APC or the President.

So, this is a surprising, yet welcome recognition of the President's determination, courage, and fortitude.

If you are a Nigerian who has been frustrated that Nigeria has not made the sort of progress it should have since independence, give this President a chance.

He can't change everything that has gone wrong in the last 50 years in less than 2 years. And unless he is a miracle worker, which he is not, and nobody is, it is unlikely that he will be able to change Nigeria into Eldorado in 4 or even 8 years.

But one thing is sure, in just 18 months, this man has shown that he is probably the best President Nigeria has ever had.

If you doubt me, please name any Nigerian President that has done in just 18 months what Mr Tinubu has accomplished in the same time frame.

This man is setting the foundation for Nigeria's economic greatness, but that greatness will only be achieved if future Presidents after him continue to build on the foundation.

Do not be in a rush to vote in another President in 2027 that will destroy the foundation Mr Tinubu is building.
You have said it all
Reason I said he should manage it the WY he met it not to suffer us in vain... He suppose to give time that this s suffering will end.

Recognizing him as THISDAY Man of the Year underscores the significant impact of bad leadership in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. Same man whose policy raises concern and debates is crowned THISDAY Man of the Year

Unbelievable, when MNK was busy discrediting the Media team in Nigeria, I chose to see it from a loopsided view of baseless banter and attacks
But now I know more
It's a pity we sunk this deep

What are the lessons?

Recall that during the 2022 to 2023 presidential campaigns, Arise News and ThisDay used every opportunity to attack Tinubu.

Ms Ojynika Ojy Ope brought every Tinubu's gaffe to amplify on her gossip segment of their morning show. Rufai Oseni said all sorts and asked Tinubu to bring himself to their studios so he (Rufai Oseni) could cross-examine him. Tundun Abiola abused people who spoke for Tinubu. Abati sometimes got carried away and joined the fray. Even their proprietor wrote a scathing release where he specifically said that Nigeria must avoid a "Noriega moment", in reference to Tinubu's unproven drug dealings. That press release was in bad taste that the duo of Dele Alake and Bayo Onanuga took the owner of Arise News to the cleaners over his unethical business practices. The owner of Arise News even tried to control public opinion by insisting Tinubu must be interviewed by them or other media house.

We must remember that the media house gave positive press coverage to PDP, Atiku, LP, Peter Obi and Godwin Emefiele as the latter contributed his quota to bury tye Nigerian economy.

They even lied that APC Presidential Campaigns had asked ThisDay/Arise Media Group to remove Rufai Oseni from the Morning Show and Shaka Momodu as ThisDay Editor in favour of patronage should Tinubu win.

After the heat from Bayo Onanuga and Dele Alake, Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria had to intervene to reach a settlement as the owner of ThisDay/Arise found himself in hot water.

The morning after the results were declared, Rufai Oseni exhibited a sad and forlorn look as he could not conceal his pain.

Following Tinubu's victory, they brought all sorts of human beings to their media station to discredit the elections and discuss a matter in a court. When all that failed and the handwriting on the wall was clear, their boss started making moves to ingratiate himself to the leaders of the day. For example, he invited himself to attend a Nigeria-Saudi Investment Forum to catch the eye of the president.

Only recently, they tried to discredit the coastal highway by jumping from one issue to another without questioning someone for allocating public land to himself.

What has changed from the antagonistic media group to bromancing the president?

What are the lessons:

1. Put your eye on the ball and believe in what you do and do what you are convinced in. Had Tinubu allowed himself to be misled to the biased media group, they'd have messed him up.

2. Many organizations take editorial decisions to favour the business interests of their owners. Do not be deceived that they are giving a voice to you or your feelings. They are doing what is politically expedient at that time.

3. I think it is unethical for a media house to dish out awards. A media is a business, but how can they be objective in coverage when they give awards to people they ought to report?

4. How come Channels TV, TVC, NTA, VOA et al do not give awards to people?

5. It is clearly a battle of business survival which makes this award in bad taste, unethical and unacceptable.

Let's look into the future:

1. Atiku and Obi would condemn ThisDay/Arise for giving Tinubu the award.

2. Tinubu should thank them and reject it.

3. I am ashamed of Tinubu's enemies eating their words. Why can't they stand by what they claimed to have believed?
You have said it all, let the president reject the award. Arise tv has been exhibiting hatred towards the president before election till after court judgement. What has changed. Anyway am not surprised cos the owner is doing what most of his people know how to do most.

I normally dont respond to online trolls, but just to educate you a bit of your ignorance. I grew up in Lagos and was old enough to understand the situation before and after his governorship. He brought a lot of reforms to lagos as Governor which has changed the state till today. I remember in the 90s when Lagos virtually terminated at maroko, everything after that was bush till you get to Epe. Today, based on the reforms he started then and mainly the execution of Fashola. Lekki axis today is virtually opened up all the way to Epe and even Ijebu in Ogun state. He grew lagos igr astronomically as a governor and ultimately its economy. If past performance is a predictor of future achievements then I believe he indeed stand a good chance of doing well as a president.

Happy new year to you too my friend!
I will not even bother to argue with You, I would rather leave you to your ignorance and lack of foresight for what Reality holds.
Lagos has always been on steady good path for progress right from the oyinbo time to the military , it neva started with Tinubu, He only did his own. I am basing my point on the REALITY We have at hand. Tpain is the GOAT FAILURE this Country has ever seen as President, He is making an almost irredeemable and irreparable mess, this is what REALITY holds. Do You know what it feels to have your logistics and expenses for business trippled before your eyes?? The man is a complete DISASTER, a big death trap to businesses in Nigeria especially small scale.

Apc was never ever created to make Nigeria better, T-pain and his evil Apc disaster only came together to grab power from Pdp and now the only thing that matters is to keep Power at all cost, no plans anywhere to solve the numerous problems that bedevils the Country. Since 2015, all We they have to offer remains promises, excuses, complain here and there. REALITY over political sensationalism.

We will wait for y'all after the 8yrs of unimaginable suffering and cluelessness of Tpain to accept that He is truly a total failure just as you now agree that Buhari was a disaster.

I draw the curtains here, enjoy the rest of your first day in 2025.

if you say the so called reforms were mainly executed by Fashola, what then did tinubu do for 8years?

what are tinubus past performance that you say are a predicator his future achievements?

what and what has tinubu done so far that clearly show that he is carrying out his constitutional duties and upholding the oath he swore on may 29, 2023?
I am not tinubu's PR aide so i am really not willing to act as one here. But just i will give you one reform that opened up lekki axis, ozumba mbadiwe was a single lane before his tenure, was literally unpassable and littered with refuse. He dualized it and awarded the lekki epe expressway toll and massive widening of the road. As soon as ozumba was fixed. Real estate developers started massive land acqusition and development almost immediately. That road was the catalyst that opened up lekki.

The coastal road 🛣️ where was it budgeted for and what tendering process followed to end up in his own construction 🏗️ company.

Should we talk about Oando oil a beneficiary of oil corrupt subsidy.

Does anybody know Tinubu primary and secondary school 🏫❓

Let's not 🚫 talk about the whole scale broad daylight 😮 rigging of elections, more people voted against him than fit him even with the massive voter rigging.

Hypocrisy of the highest order!!! Even the president can't award himself this accolade yet!

If not for hypocrisy, there are private and public business n officials who have been consistent and getting good result for the past 5 years !

How can u rate a man who is yet to find his feet and possibly could retract his steps and make some mistakes as well as under the learning curve as man of the year!

This is how we pollute policies and institutions with premature accolades

Yes the guy is making sense but aside hatred , the president and several professionals have warned that the reforms are dicey and the chances of success is slim and long

You can't award a result that is not out based on just the recipient discussing and rallying round a pertinent issues.

Award should be based on results and antecedents of successes
