The Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has congratulated residents of the FCT on the arrival of the New Year, urging them to embrace 2025 with renewed hope and determination for collective progress.

In his New Year message to FCT residents, the Minister expressed gratitude for the support and cooperation of residents in the past year, acknowledging the significant achievements recorded in 2024, in the areas of infrastructure development, education, health and security enhancement.

The Minister outlined the key priorities for 2025 to include Continued infrastructural development to drive economic growth and improve quality of life as well as the enhancement of healthcare, education, and agricultural sectors to ensure access to essential services for all residents.

The Minister also indicated the willinhness of the FCT Administratiob to address public transportation challenges through private sector participation, in addition to also expanding youth employment programs to harness the energy and creativity of young people.


Barr. Wike emphasized the importance of active citizen participation, urging residents to fulfill their civic obligations by paying taxes and levies to support developmental projects in the FCT.

He reiterated the administration's commitment to transforming the FCT into one of the best capital territories globally, urging residents to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and work together for a united and prosperous FCT.

According to the FCT Minister, "We must also recognize that sustainable development requires the active participation of all residents. I urge you to meet your civic obligations by paying taxes, dues, and levies as applicable, as these are essential for generating the revenue needed to fund developmental projects.

"Let us remain committed to ensuring that the FCT continues to stand as the proper Centre of Unity, upholding the dreams of our founding fathers.

"This administration remains steadfast in its determination to transform the FCT into one of the best capital territories in the world. We can achieve the collective dream of a thriving, and prosperous FCT by supporting His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda and working together in unity and cooperation.

"Together, let us embrace 2025 with hope and determination and may this year bring us closer to realizing our collective vision for a Federal Capital Territory that reflects the highest ideals of progress and unity."
