Good evening everyone.

Happy new year to us all and I wish us all the best this year, as we were celebrating today something happened which I found to be normal but funny enough my wife has been telling me I fall hand so I want to know people's opinion about it.

Normally I am not a fan of some foods despite all the hype by Nigerians,foods like fried rice, fried plantain, pounded yam, egusi. So today we decided to make fried rice for our guests (my 2 friends and their wife). So after we were all served fried rice I requested for stew to put on top my own because to me fried rice is just like ordinary rice, I need the stew to balance everything.

As soon as I requested stew like this, everyone just started laughing like they find it wierd, me on the other hand i no send, I add stew chop my food without looking uche face.

Now our visitors have gone and my wife is insisting I fall hand despite the fact she knows I don't like fried rice but I don't want to look odd.

My fellow nairalanders, please is there a big deal about requesting stew for friend rice because me I Dey laugh normal but my wife is making it look like a big deal.

Of course not. Personally, I find fried rice usually very dry, I gotta have stew or sauce with my fried rice. In a restaurant, I would request for a side dish of stew. With my buddies inviting to eat fried rice in their home, I would pre warn them.

Fall hand ke? In your own house? Nothing like that. I admit it's pretty odd but you are king in your house and you can do what you want.

That's exactly how I eat my fried rice or jollof. I must seek stew wherever it is. For me, I don't like anything without stew.

That is a kind of gluttony attitude. You want to add everything to eat. Atleast you shouldn't have done it in your friends presence.

it's far from gluttony, anything without enough pepper nauseates me n if u want to b sincere me n u know fried rice is not that different from ordinary white rice

I can still manage jollof rice without stew but I can't do that with fried rice
