I noticed you are not allowed to deactivate your account anymore on Nairaland. Given the politicisation of the Forum which has now made it a mouthpiece for the APC propaganda, imbalanced ans partial reporting, perso alisation if issues by some moderstors, some moderstors being paid to suppress otuers or ban people with differing views, there have been increased number of members who want to leave Nairaland permanently. The fact that the Usernames are linked to personal emails and other details is enough reason to want to disassociate yourself with the forum permanently and this is allowed under data privacy act. At this rate, I see this forum become moribund soon just like some before it. Seun and co, can you allow us to deactivate completely? There are so many people waiting for this opportunity. |

They fear people are dumping the forum , Nairaland is one sided when it comes to moderation ! Infact Nairaland moderators are the ones promoting Ethnic and Religion Bigotry these days. ![]() The Banned people Base on Religion and ethnicity and too much into politics ....... Just like Reno Omokri and Daniel Bwala ![]() |

Because they steal your information once you log in so they want to link everything about you when they need their IGP and DSS dogs to pick you up. Deactivation feature will be returned when Tinubu is no longer in power. Good day. |

Nairaland will soon die a natural death. It has been politicized and tribalized. The forum nairaland is gone for good, what a shame that the owner didn't know how to sustain a great forum like nairaland. |

This may not be too far from the truth. Somebody actually hinted me that Nairaland and a few other Nigerian fora have been co-opted by the Nigeria security agencies to submit logical details of their members on a regular basis. Your logical addresses are tracked on Nairaland and submitted to Nigerian security agencies...beware. unbiasedTruth: |

I see it happening too, which is unfortunate. It started out as a very infomative and unbiased platfom for exchange of ideas. I got all the contacts of all the artisans and professionals(architecs, surveyors, C of O agent, etc) involved in my first 2 building projects from Nairaland property section. Justnation: |

Yes madam. Because my email is linked to my accout which is a personal trail. If I do not want to have anything to do with Nairaland in the future not my account, the Data privacy protection act allows me to do so and disconnect with my profile. Nairaland still owns the content but i have an unreseved prerogative to my details linked to the account. That is what I am after. Take my email. It has come up though that Nairaland shares your details with the security agencies(including your IP addresses), so be cautious of what you share or views expressed here. Mineisgrace: |

We have been forced to remain in the sinking ship. Too bad we had the worst captain on earth. We warned him, but he chose not to listen. |
