What Do You Think? Am I Overreacting by JustJoined001(op): 2:51pm On Jan 03, 2025
So I have a gf that told me about my breathe not being so good and that I should work on it…

Well, I took it well and will see a dentist to figure what is the cause. Until I got home and started recalling some actions that kinda hurt me a bit…. And I started putting 1+1 together..

Like avoiding me sometimes when we sit, the one that got to me was a day before when she stylishly sat and sniffed my cloth… it was after our conversation that it got to me when I recalled it cause I was thinking (so what do you mean)…

Cause I dress cool and all that… I guess she was tryna confirm that too (cause we are in long distance relationship and recently met). Felt somehow not gonna lie and I think I want to break up nicely with her…. Don’t think I can face her again.

Well as for the breathe part, a bit surprised but like I said I will visit a dentist.

Hmm.

Country is already hard enough....

Few questions to you?

> Do you suffer from bad breath?
> Do you have body odour?
> Do you drink / smoke?
> Has anyone else complained about this?

To remedy all of this:

> Simply get a good paste: pepsodent | Colgate | those herbal variants (longrich)
> Get a good body spray (Nivea, storm etc)
> Always air sweaty clothing when you return home.

Nah, I don’t suffer from body stuff… I think it’s just the breathe which she mentioned….

But Mehn broken down… just need to break up and then fix the breathe thing.

Nah mehn.

Guessing you chew a lot of garlic.

Fregels and roadside sweets can help.

Also buy and use mouth wash.

Please take her observation in good faith. Do not vilify her for pointing out what your so called friends failed to point out.

From your write up, she didn't do so rudely or to spite you. She did so that you can be more appreciated.

Get to work and fix it!

If you no longer like her, then break up with her. No biggie! undecided

Guy, that girl is your best friend right now.

Do you think it is easy to tell someone that his/her breathe or body smells bad?

Baba go and do something urgent about these if her observations are right.

Even if she leave you will the smell leave too?

You can't please humans at all.
So you'd rather hear it outside??Bad breath and body odour are one of the hardest things to tell ppl.

So hold her very well so she can tell you when there's improvement.

Oga, you dey smell.

That is the truth and you have to work on it. Having a MO or BO is likely assault on the noses of individuals close to you.

Count yourself lucky you have never been sued for BO assault.

It's right there in the Nigerian constitution.

This is family section, kids under 13 don't post here. If your girlfriend is sniffing your clothes then maybe mouth odor is not the only odor you have. When was the last time you took your bath?
Re: What Do You Think? Am I Overreacting by Nnamdipapa(m): 12:21am On Jan 04, 2025
1. When was the last time Op bathed?
2. Does the OP bathe a minimum of twice a day?
3. Does OP know how to bathe well, he may need to attend professional bathing classes- I can recommend.
2 . Does the op wear clothes more than once before washing?
3. How often does he wear his boxers before washing?
4. What types of roll-on and body sprays does op use ( As a brother, I will suggest Mitchum roll-on for men, guaranteed 72 hours of fresh smell
even if you shite for body - I don't know if they have them in Nigeria).
5. Does OP have mouth sprays or Tic Tac that can be chewed occasionally?
6. I will also recommend a vanilla flavour balls spray down below for all round freshness, na so your GF go dey lick your balls like candy after the spray.

If you continue to smell after the above remedies, send me a private DM, I get one prophet that will pray the MO and BO away, matta don turn spiritual be that. grin grin grin grin

Op, on a serious note, I am a professional BO consultant, send me a DM and I will guide you as a brother if the above do not work for you which I very much doubt.

IN ALL YOU DO, NEVER GET MAD AT THE PERSON WHO IS TRYING TO CORRECT YOU. I will not give you a job if you come to my interview with a BO. I can't let you chase my customers away.

Cheers buddy!

I would suggest you give it sometime as she was at least sincere with you since you did not suggest she said it in a derogatory manner. Please see a dentist and a simple scaling and polishing with the use of a recommended toothpaste might help.

As your girlfriend, she could've been more gentle with her delivery. Telling you your breath isn't good and to work on it seems a bit demeaning. She could've been kinder with her words, and could've given you a new toothbrush, toothpaste and deodorant to help you out and let you know she means well. That said, if her delivery was harsh, her intention probably wasn't to hurt your feelings. Her avoiding you when you sit and sniffing your clothes are insensitive, however, but perhaps the smell was that unpleasant. Well, try not to take offence. Simply use this as an opportunity to start taking your mouth and body hygiene seriously.
That is why everyone lies to you and you like it.

Who are you and who do you think you're talking to? Go to hell. This is why I hate Nairaland. Somebody cannot leave their reply on a thread in peace. Any nobody will just quote your post to talk shit.
See how you are proving my words true. You are looking for people to make life easy, sweet and convenient for you and this is why you like lies and watered down Truths and therefore you avoid people who tell you the painfull pure truth.

And this is where Nairaland is good because there would always be someone to tell you the Truth even if you hate Truth.

When I say Nigerians hate truth, can you all see that I did not lie? You want to break up with the only honest person in your life because she told you the truth? See why good things are far from this crooked generation?

Oga Dbodyodour, stick to the topic. Leave your own comment, allow folks leave theirs. It's not by force to open your smelly mouth and yarn dust.

You should be grateful she has told you. It’s awkward having to tell anyone they have a bad breath. Some people would just break up and move on and you wouldn’t get the chance to take care of it.
