Truth be told the man was a weak leader.. He allowed selfish educated illiterate to hijack his Govt. He allowed problems to fester before intervening .. Imagine the egregious embezzlement that took place under his supervision. When he didn't understand what Emefiele was doing he came out to declare his support for him. Thank God Nigeria is not China ,the man would have been jailed . He can't exonerate himself from the nonsense that happened under his Govt . We know he has a date to keep with God to account for his wrongs in power.

Ahmad Lawwan was chosen as APC consensus presidential candidate but APC governors most especially Northern governors sold us to Tunibu due to greed and selfishness.

Politics is about being intelligently smart and outsmarting one another. That's why I pity those who want to challenge Tinubu in 2027 bcoz I see them labouring in vain.

He should have prevented the current calamity by He throwing the 3rd most corrupt person on earth into jail shortly before the election.

He had that award hanging on his neck even before he grabbed and ran away, so evidence yapa.

He was absolutely neutral. And was never an imposer.

His mistake he makes no checks but trust people to have their choice. That cost us in many aspects

Osinbajo: We’ve saved N1.4trn by not paying fuel subsidy

AUGUST 25, 2016

Vice President Yemi Osinbanjo says the federal government has saved N1.4 trillion for not paying oil subsidy.

Speaking in Kano on Thursday during the third day of the 15th Joint Planning Board and National Council on development meeting, Osinbajo urged Nigerians not to lose faith in Buhari’s administration, saying the president would fix the economy.

“*With the deregulation of the downstream petroleum sector*, there has been a significant increase in the availability of petrol throughout the country for the savings of N1.4 trillion on subsidy payments alone,” Osinbajo said.

So why all the drama about Lawan as the CONSENSUS flag bearer before the primaries huh

phemmyjohnson:
CONTRARY to the position of most Northern Governors on power shift to the South National Chairman of thee All Progressives Congress, Senator Abdullah I Adamu has announced Senate president Ahmad Lawan as APC consensus presidential candidate.

Adamu, Vanguard gathered announced this at the meeting of theNational Working Committee, NWC, on Monday, in Abuja.

However, some members of the NWC, sources said, kicked against the move and insisted that other Presidential aspirants which include Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Engr. David Umahi must be allowed to contest the primary election at tomorrow’s convention scheduled at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

Adamu’s adoption of Lawan as consensus candidate is against the position of 11 APC nothern governors who endorsed that power must shift to the South after President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.
Adamu told the NWC that he arrived at the choice of Lawan after consultation with President Buhari.

Buhari, Northern govs in closed-door meeting
Reacting to the move, some APC northern governors raced to Aso Villa and currently meeting with -President Muhammadu Buhari.
The meeting is coming a day before the commencement of the party’s convention to elect its presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections.

Although President Buhari has maintained his position on the consensus arrangement, there has not been any agreement among the 23 presidential aspirants.
The meeting with the APC governors from the North is the fourth parley in his effort to ensure that the party presents a consensus candidate so as to reduce acrimony that may arise at the end of the convention.

I think Buhari was confused about his choice of successor. He did not want Tinubu quite alright but he never had a clear favorite. Few days to the primary, he narrowed his choice down to Ahmed Lawan but it was a hard sell. He couldn’t come out to mobilize for him for obvious reasons. A northern president mobilizing for a northern candidate to succeed him after 8 years would have killed the party.

Osinbajo was more like a second option. Sadly, supporting an Osinbajo who was not even his first choice against a benefactor like Bola Tinubu was too much trouble. He doesn’t have the strength to manage the fallout.

Tinubu read Buhari’s situation and played his cards well. While publicly asking for Buhari’s support, he knew he was never going to get it. Instead, he kept mobilizing party members while putting pressure on Buhari to stay neutral. The Abeokuta outburst was a game changer. Stay neutral or we scatter everything. The primary came and Tinubu won easily.

However, Buhari and his goons were not done. They had a last joker for the election. Atiku Abubakar. To them, Atiku was a better option than Tinubu. However, campaigning for him publicly was impossible. So they came up with Naira redesign and other policies to make APC look bad.

Buhari’s last move was predictable so Tinubu already had a strategy in place. Peter Obi. Peter Obi was an unusual candidate in the election. He became a force with huge financial backing just few months to the election. Tinubu’s team poured huge money into Obi’s campaign without Obi knowing he’s being used. Tinubu also bought a lot of the APC governors. Peter Obi and the APC governors effectively checkmated Buhari and Atiku. The rest is history.
